THE ENIGMA CALLED ENI UDUMA CHIMA; A FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Like him or hate him, Hon. Barr. Eni Uduma Chima Ph.D is a household name in Ebonyi State politics which name is swiftly cascading into National consciousness with the speed of lightening. He is a big name and a reference point when effective representation is involved, when political adroitness is in issue, when human capital development is in question, when integrated development and prudent management of public resources is needed. He has paid his dues in service to humanity through his constituents. He has built, paved and reconstructed roads, hospitals and quarters; granted scholarships, donated starter packs and kits to artisans, distributed drugs and medical equipment to several health centers, defended the interests of his constituents and above all, engineered the passage of populist bills for the betterment of his people and enrichment of the Nigerian legislative jurisprudence. No need to dwell on this plank because his score card is in the public domain for anybody who wish to verify.
Now, having served the masses as a State legislator and as a Council Chairman where he assiduously worked for the people under the P.D.P first and after discovering the injustice of not exclusively zoning the Presidential ticket to the South East Region in 2023, he honourably adjusted his political platform to the A.P.C. But in running away from injustice he met a greater injustice which has informed his latest volte face. The greater injustice witnessed in the broom political party which has JUSTICE as part of its motto compelled the dynamic Eni to quietly retrace his steps back to his first political party, the P.D.P and was cheerfully welcomed by the founding fathers, N.W.C and B.O.T members.
To set the record straight, Hon. Dr. Eni Uduma Chima is in the contest for the House of Representatives position in Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency and nothing more. He has his political friends, allies and associates across all political divides and may in his usual political correctness ensure his victory first and those of his true and sincere associates latter. One thing about this fastest rising political star from Edda land is that he rewards friendship and loyalty in the same way he believes in reciprocal political support.
This clarification is germane because people who has never contested, who has never won and who are not presently contesting for any position or election are ingesting Panadol for another persons' headache. If the politicians in the ballots from various political parties are watching the trends and analyzing developments without noise, why should their bingos continue barking like rabid dogs?
Hon. Chief, Barr. Dr. Eni Uduma Chima is not perturbed or distracted in the least by side comments by people who does not matter because the bleat of goats cannot disturb the quiet sleep of the lion. Knowing too well that it is only trees with juicy fruits that attracts the highest number of stones and sticks from hungry vagabonds; the Philosopher King from Amiri Ekoli ward is at home with the tantrums of drowning political misfits clinging to straws by dishing out irrelevant vitriolic and verbiages. It is a familiar terrain.
Bearing in mind that "he who chatters of me confesses of my superiority", the Okpataozuoha 1 of Edda land is observing the naked Olo dancers from the comfort of Ugwu Olo knowing too well that "when the come comes to become, the happen will happen".
