CHRIST THE KING
HOLY MASS
First reading: 2nd Samuel 5: 1-3.
Responsorial Psalms: Psalm 122:1-2.4-5
Second Reading: Col 1:12-20
Gospel Acclamation: Mark 11:9f
Gospel: Luke 23:35-43
Ministering: Fr Amuma Oganigwe
Topic: He is the King Of the Universe, king of my Soul

What are we celebrating today? The solemnity of Christ the king, today we profess Christ to be our king; to be Lord in our lives. We acknowledge Christ to be the most important in our life, we acknowledge Him to be the author and finisher of our faith. This solemnity brings to an end the ordinary season of the church and an official end to the ecclesiastical or church calendar and by next Sunday, the holy mother church will move into a new year. What a pleasant way to end the year. We end it with the Lord and then we proceed through the town and villages singing praises to Christ and proclaiming Christ the king of the universe.Remember that acknowledging God as our king means that we are becoming subject to His wills and intents about us, that we are making ourselves God’s subject and He will not abandon us.God doesn’t change nor go back on His words hence the word of God in Mathew 5:18 says till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot will pass from God’s words. His plans for us are plans of good and not of evil and we are being purchased at a very high price and our robes have been washed and made spotless in the blood of the lamb.

Remember He is a king that has the interest of His subjects in mind, He is always consistent in His love for us. Lamentations 3:22 says that the steadfastness of the lord never ceases and His mercy never comes to end.

The word of the Lord are true and they do not change because our God himself is true and He is a promise keeper and the question becomes what is His promise? What has God promised us? He has promised us His love and protection. In Isaiah 40:11 The word of God said that the Lord will feed His flock like a shepherd and that means that He will take care of our cares and worries because in the book of Psalm 100:3 The word of God said that we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

In songs of Solomon 2:4 the word of God said that His banner over us is love and it is the love of God that that keeps us going and knowing that He loves and will always be there for us makes us resilient the more. Are you thinking that you have been abandoned? Child of God think so no more, your king is asking you to read what He tells you in Jeremiah 31:3, he says Yea I have love thee with an everlasting love and that love is not going to be taken away from you. He has promised to shower us with everlasting love, a love that will love forever. The psalmist in psalm 126 says that when God delivered Zion by bringing back the exiles of Zion, that we thought we were dreaming, it wasn’t expected because it seemed impossible, yet God brought them back. So don’t worry, your king is intentional about you.

In the gospel of Mathew chapter 6 God, it says, behold the birds of the air who neither sow nor reap but the heavenly father takes care of them and also the grasses in the field who neither sow nor reap yet their splendor is more radiant than that of Solomon. The word of God in the scriptures in the book of Numbers 23:23 made it clear that no enchantment against Israel shall stand nor shall any divination against Israel stand.

In the book of Exodus chapter 3 when God called Moses, He said “I have heard the cry of oppression of my people in the house of captivity” and He did not keep quiet but swung into actions to deliver the sons of Israel from the house of captivity. In Isaiah 49:14-16 the word of God said “But Zion said the Lord has forsaken me and my Lord has forgotten me and the Lord replied, “Can a woman forget her sucking child that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea they may forget, yet I will not forget you, behold I have graven thee upon the palm of my hands, thy wall are continually before me” When next you are thinking that things are not going well for you, remember these three things:
1. God never lies
2. God never changes
3. He has promised that He would take care of you.

WHAT TO DO TODAY
√Contemplate on the love of God.
√Thank Him for His steadfastness.
√Thank Him for everything He has done for you.
√Lift Him high with songs of praise.
√Cast your worries on Him.
√Thank Him for answering your prayers.

SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS.💐💐🌾
HOLY MASS
First reading: Apocalypse 7:2-4. 9-14
Responsorial Psalms: Psalm 24:1-6
Second Reading: 1John 3:1-3
Gospel Acclamation: Mathew 11:28
Gospel: Mathew 5:1-12
🎤Reflecting Theme: Mathew 5
Minister: Rev Fr Augustus Aduaka

The holy mother church teaches us that she has three arms and they are:- 1. The church triumphant or the church in heaven,
2. The Suffering Church, they are the church in purgatory
3. The Pilgrim Church, the church on Earth.

But today is specifically mapped out to celebrate the victorious triumphant church in heaven; they are the glorious church, they have washed themselves pure in the blood of the lamb, they have passed through the agonies of this world and now enjoy the beatific vision of the lamb in whose blood they washed their robes white.

They were able to stand strong amid the cross and challenges of the world and have ran the race to the finish. They merited the crown of glory that God gives to His elect.

They are the people that the author of the letter to the Hebrews referred to as cloud of witness in the book of Hebrews 12:1 who surrounds God’s people.
They are the people who St James mentioned in his book in James 1:12 that blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the lord has promised to them that love Him.

The holy mother remembers all her children who has received the crown of glory whether recognized by the church officially through canonization or unrecognized officially, today is their feast day.
Having made themselves worthy of the promises of the lamb through their perseverance, they received the crown of glory which is everlasting, the type that the apostle Peter mentioned in 1st Peter 5:4, “And when the chief shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that does not fade.

They were the ones that the apostle John saw in his vision in the first reading from the book of the apocalypse 7:8 where he said, “After this I looked and behold, a great multitude which no one could number from every nation, from all tribes and people and tongues and standing before the throne and before the lamb, clothed with white robes with palms branches and crying out with a loud voice, salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne and to the lamb”.
How were they able to enjoy the vision of God and to stand before His throne and the lamb singing praises? It was by the virtue of the life they lived while alive in the body.

They were the ones that lived out the beatitudes that our savior and master talked about in the gospel reading taken from the gospel of St Mathew chapter 5:1-12.
They were those whose thirst and hunger for righteousness were satisfied with the beatific vision of Him that their hearts desired. Their hunger and thirst for righteousness made them live lives that were outstanding, they had visions and goals of making it to the wedding feast of the lamb and they worked out their salvation in fear and trembling as saint Paul advised in Philippians 2:12.

They were also the ones that were poor in spirit and what was their reward? the beatitude said blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven, for the virtue of their poverty in spirit, they were able to inherit the kingdom of heaven.

It is a call to a lifestyle that will lead us to heaven so that having lived our lives here on earth, we may also merit the beatific vision of God where we with the heavenly host shall adore God for all eternity. Amen.
WHAT TO DO TODAY
1. Have you exalted the name of God today? Why not open your mouth and sing His praises
2. Thank God of the privileges you have been enjoying like the gift of life and new month of November.
3. Bless Him for the word of today that has served as an eye opener for you

⛪HOLY MASS
First reading: Jeremiah 38:4-6. 8-10
Responsorial Psalms: Psalm 40:2-3. 18
Second reading: Hebrews 12:1-4
Gospel Acclamation: John 10:27
Gospel: Luke 12: 49-53
Reflecting theme: John 10:27
We are God’s sheep and He is our shepherd, a shepherd filled with love and compassion, a shepherd interested in our welfare, a shepherd who would go all out for his sheep, a shepherd who wouldn’t spare his life for his sheep. The heart of a good shepherd is filled with love and mercy and because it is filled with these, the sheep fall in love with him and know his voice, listening to what he has to say and following him.

The merciful heart of God the good shepherd is always drawn towards us, that is why in the book of Ezekiel 34:11-13 the word of God said “Behold I, myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when some of his sheep have been scattered abroad, so will I seek out my sheep; and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land and feed them by the mountains of Israel.

God is love and will never forsake us even when we feel He has forsaken us. In Isaiah 49:14-16 the word of God said “But Zion said the lord has forsaken me and my lord has forgotten me and the lord replied, “Can a woman forget her sucking child that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea they may forget, yet I will not forget you, behold I have graven thee upon the palm of my hands, thy walls are continually before me.”

The loving assurance of His love and mercy is evermore, the steadfastness of the Lord never ceases and His mercy does not come to an end, they are new every morning. He can’t change because He is the good shepherd and not a hired one. There is no situation that you find yourself in, that God is not aware of, God is always interested in our welfare and progress, He said in the book of Isaiah 43:1-5 “But now thus saith the lord that created thee o Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel, fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called you by your name, you are mine. When you pass through the water, I will be with thee and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee, when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, for I am the lord thy God, the holy one of Israel, your savior, I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for you, Since you are precious in my sight, I have loved you, therefore I will give up men for you and people for your life.

God is always conscious of everything concerning us and this is found in the book of Isaiah 62:1-5 where He said “For the sake Zion I will not be silent, for the sake of Jerusalem, I will not grow weary, until her integrity shines out like the dawn and her salvation flames like a torch….. You are to be a crown of splendor in the hand of the lord and a princely diadem in the hand of your God.

The lord is the good shepherd who is interested in the upkeep of His sheep He is the shepherd who can lay down His life for His sheep because He is the true shepherd and not a paid laborer who is only interested in his wages. It is only true shepherd that will be concerned with the welfare of His flock like our lord, His interest is in our salvation, It is not His plan that we perish neither is it part of the bargain that we go astray. He has come that we may have life and in abundance, that we prosper even as our souls prosper, that we may be made whole.

Remember that He endured the suffering that should have been ours, the pain that we should have borne, all the while we thought that His suffering was punishment sent by God, but because of our sins He was wounded, for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon him and by his stripes we are healed. When next you feel that things are not going well for you, remember the lord is your shepherd and will not let you down.

WHAT TO DO TODAY Spend time praising God for His provision upon you and your family.Thank Him for the gift of waking up hale and hearty.Ask Him for the grace to trust in Him and hand everything into the hands of God.Ask Him for the grace of total dependence on Him. Happy Sunday and miraculous new week ahead. Fr Amuma prays for you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

HOLY MASS
First reading: Ezekiel 12:1-12
Responsorial Psalms: Psalm 78:56-59.61-62.
Gospel Acclamation: Psalm 119:135
Gospel: Mathew 18: 21-19:1
🎤Reflecting theme: Mathew 18: 21
The gospel reading of the day showed a question asked by the head of the apostles St Peter on forgiveness and the answer given to him by Jesus. We are meant to offer forgiveness without boundaries or measures because it is a requisite for forgiveness from God.

A stanza in the prayer our savior taught us says “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us.” In essence if we do not forgive others their trespasses against us, God should not forgive us our trespasses.Who isn’t in need of God’s forgiveness, who can survive without the forgiveness of God?

We are all sinners and we have fallen short of the glory of God and this God has given us the criteria for the forgiveness of our sins when He said in the gospel of Mathew 6:14-15, if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly father forgive your trespasses.

God is ever ready to forgive us because in Romans 4:7 the word of God says, blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven. The letter to the Hebrews 8:12, the word of God says “And their iniquities will I remember no more” and in the same letter to Hebrews 10:17 the bible also says “Sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” In the gospel of Luke 6:37 the word of God says, forgive and you shall be forgiven.

It is only the forgiveness of God that can save us from the condemnation meant for our sins because the word of God in Romans 6:23 said that the wages of sin is death and if our sins are forgiven, then we will be spared from the wages of sin which is death but we ought to know that there is a condition attached to the forgiveness of sin by God.

We really need to learn how to forgive because it is also therapeutic. We do that for our own sanity and peace of mind, because when you do not forgive, you are like one carrying a heavy luggage and you keep yourself heavy laden and pressed down with the weights of un-forgiveness. If you really want to go far in life, you need to detach yourself from lots of unhealthy things, let go of anger and un-forgiveness and embrace peace of mind, forgive not because the other person deserves but because it is a biblical criterion given by God for the forgiveness of your own sin, forgive because it is only when you forgive others that God can forgive you your own sins and it is only then that you can prosper in body and soul( find favor in the eyes of God).

It is only when we are at peace with God that we can make exploits like the radical prophet Elijah. The book of Sirach 48:1-14 sang the praises of Elijah, a prophet that called down fire three times from heaven, a prophet that arose like a fire and whose words burned like a torch, by whose words the heavens were shut for three years and famine dealt with the sons of men.It is only a man that is at peace with his God that can achieve this feat that the radical prophet Elijah achieved. We can only be at peace with God when we are constantly asking Him for forgiveness and He can forgive us if we are willing and ready to forgive others their trespasses. So the next time you are tempted to resist forgiving your brother his trespasses against you, let word of God in Mathew 6:14-15 be your guide because it says “if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your heavenly father forgive your trespasses.

WHAT TO DO TODAY Magnify the name of God with everything within you. Ask for the grace of loving your enemies. Ask for forgiveness of sins from God and from those you offended. Pray for the gift of forgiving all that has offended you. Let the graces and favor of the almighty God come down upon you, your family, your life endeavors, Father, Son and the Holy Spirit🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Responsorial Psalms: Psalm 51:12-15. 18-19 Gospel Acclamation: Mathew 16:18
Gospel: Mathew 16:13-23
Reflecting Theme: Jeremiah 31:1

The prophesy of Jeremiah in the 31st Chapter of the book of the Prophet Jeremiah talks about the commitment of our God in beating Israel back to shape and restoring her to her former splendor. God doesn’t change nor go back on His words hence the word of God in Mathew 5:18 says till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot will pass from God’s words.

The steadfastness of the lord never ceases and His mercy never comes to end, the word of the lord are true and they do not change because our God himself is true and what has God promised us, He has promised us His love and protection. In Isaiah 40:11 The word of God said that the lord will feed His flock like a shepherd and that means that He will take care of our cares and worries because in the book of Psalm 100:3 The word of God said that we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. In Jeremiah 31:3 you will see the sacred scripture say Yea I have love thee with an everlasting love. The psalmist in psalm 126 says that when God delivered Zion by bringing back the exiles of Zion, that we thought we were dreaming, it wasn’t expected because it seemed impossible, yet God brought them back.In the gospel of Mathew chapter 6 God said we should behold the birds of the air who neither sow nor reap but the heavenly father takes care of them and also the grasses in the field who neither sow nor reap yet their splendor was more radiant than that of Solomon. The word of God in the scriptures in the book of Numbers 23:23 made it clear that no enchantment against Israel shall stand nor shall any divination against Israel stand.

Now, contemplate on the love of God.Thank Him for His steadfastness.Thank Him for everything He has done for you.Lift Him high with songs of praise.Cast your worries on Him.Thank Him for answering your prayers. Happy New Month of Divine Testimonies. Fr Amuma loves you all.
