*OBIO MKPARAWA ORO, AJAH BRANCH AUGUST MEETING*
*Date: 9th August 2026*

The *Obio Mkparawa Oro, Ajah Branch* held her August General Meeting on *Sunday, 9th August 2026*. The meeting commenced promptly at *3:00PM* with the singing of the *Obio Mkparawa Oro Anthem*, followed by an opening prayer by *Ulap Okon Abia, Vice President 2*. The President thereafter gave his remarks and set the tone for deliberations.

*MEETING HIGHLIGHTS*

*1. Presentation of 2025 Audited Account*
The 2025 Audited Account was presented to the house. In the interest of transparency and diligence, members resolved to take copies home for proper review. Observations and inputs will be presented at the next meeting.

*2. One-Year Anniversary Budget Presentation*
The *Planning Committee*, chaired by *Ulap Okon Abia, VP 2*, presented the proposed budget for the upcoming *One-Year Anniversary Celebration in October 2026*.
The budget generated robust contributions from members.
- *Mrs. Happiness Asuquo* observed that the allocation for Pastry Training was inadequate. The house directed her to present a revised budget for that item next week.
- *Comrade Daniel E***a* suggested that the proposal for printed jotters as souvenirs be stepped down.
The Planning Committee took note of all observations and will present a fresh report.

*3. Expansion Milestone: New Branch at Eleko*
In a major announcement, *Adviser 1* disclosed that a *new branch of Obio Mkparawa Oro* will be inaugurated at *Eleko in September 2026*.
This is one of the key achievements of the *one-year administration of President Nicolas Etim* - expanding the reach of Obio Mkparawa Oro under Ajah Branch.

*4. Election of New Welfare Officer*
To reposition the welfare arm of the organization, *Mrs. Kate* was elected as the *new Welfare Officer* of Obio Mkparawa Oro, Ajah Branch. The office had been vacant for some months. The house emphasized that welfare remains central to the core objective of Obio Mkparawa Oro.

*5. BOT Empowerment Committee Report*
The Committee set up to follow up on the *BOT Empowerment* presented its report. The house was informed that *form filling has been completed*. Selection of beneficiaries will be strictly on merit, with due diligence on dues payment, welfare participation, and meeting attendance.

*6. Anniversary Donations*
Donations were raised in support of the upcoming One-Year Anniversary Celebration. _Please find the list of donors and amounts attached._
Members who were not present at the meeting are encouraged to key in and support this celebration in appreciation to God for a successful one-year administration.

The meeting ended with a short session of refreshments and fellowship.

*OBIO MKPARAWA ORO AJAH BRANCH JOINS ITTIRE & AJEGUNLE BRANCHES AT A GLORIOUS JULY COMMUNITY HYMN SINGING – METHODIST CHURCH TRINITY, TINUBU LAGOS*

It was a day of unity, worship, and cultural pride as the *Obio Mkparawa Oro, Ajah Branch*, joined forces with *Ittire and Ajegunle Branches* under the *National Body of Obio Mkparawa Oro* to grace the *July Community Hymn Singing* organized by *THE HERITAGE, Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu, Lagos*.

The spirit-filled event was generously sponsored by our revered son and leader, *Sir Engr. Dr. & Lady Asuquo Inuikim, KJW, and Family* — *Chairman, Board of Trustees, Obio Mkparawa Oro, Lagos State*.

The July edition of the community hymn singing was a beautiful expression of thanksgiving. Voices rose in melodious hymns to glorify God for His mercies, love, and faithfulness throughout the month.

The occasion was further honored by the presence of *The Hon. Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice Okon Mbang* — a proud son of Oro and a close friend of the event sponsor, *Sir Engr. Dr. Asuquo Inuikim*. His attendance added prestige and dignity to the gathering.

Welcoming the Oro delegation was *The Very Rev. Dr. Inyang Okon Effiong*, Vicar of the Parish and also a proud son of Oro. He received the community warmly with heartfelt handshakes, prayers, and photographs, reflecting the true spirit of love and brotherhood.

The leadership of *Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu, Lagos* expressed profound appreciation to the entire *Oron Union, Lagos State*, represented by the *National Body of Obio Mkparawa Oro*, for turning out en masse to support their illustrious son, *Sir Engr. Dr. Asuquo Inuikim*, the chief sponsor of the July Community Hymn Singing.

Leading the Ajah delegation was the dynamic *Branch President, Admin. Nicholas Etim*, alongside committed executives and members of *Obio Mkparawa Oro, Ajah Branch*, who represented the branch with pride and solidarity.

It was indeed a celebration of faith, heritage, and Oro excellence.

*REPORT ON JULY MONTHLY MEETING*
*Date: Sunday, 12th, July 2026*
*Venue: Ilaye Meeting Hall*

Obio Mkparawa Oro Ajah Branch kicked off the July monthly meeting today with an *Executive Meeting* that commenced at *12:00 PM prompt*. The session was presided over by the President and focused on key issues affecting the Ajah Branch. Deliberations were held and peaceful resolutions were reached to ensure the continued progress of the branch.

Immediately after the executive meeting, the *General Meeting* commenced at *4:00 PM prompt*.

*HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MEETING*

*1. President’s Opening Remarks*
The President, *Admin Nicolas Etim*, welcomed all members who honored the meeting despite the heavy rainfall. In his address, he reassured members of his commitment to deliver his best and to prioritize the welfare of all Oro sons and daughters in Lagos State, with special focus on the Ajah axis.

*2. One Year Anniversary Celebration*
The President announced the *One Year Anniversary* of the current administration. He stated the need to thank God for His benevolence over the past year and for all the achievements recorded. He emphasized that it is by God’s grace that the administration has succeeded, hence the need to celebrate.

To this effect, a *Planning Committee* was constituted:
- *Chairman*: Ulap Okon Abia, Vice President 2
- *Secretary*: Victor Willie, PRO
- *Members*: Mrs. Ita Affiang, Mrs. Kate, and Apostle Mensong

The anniversary event is scheduled for the *Second Sunday of October 2026* to give thanks to God for a successful one year in office.
Mr. Inyanng suggested that anniversary T-shirts be produced, and the Planning Committee took note.

*3. Inauguration Award & Donation Committee*
A committee was set up for *Award Donation Recovery*. The committee’s key responsibility is to contact all members and guests who received awards and pledged donations but are yet to redeem them. The committee also resolved to publish the names of defaulters in the branch WhatsApp group in the coming days.

*4. B.O.T Empowerment Program*
The President announced an upcoming *Empowerment Program* from the Board of Trustees, from which Ajah members will be selected as beneficiaries. He urged potential beneficiaries to see it as a golden opportunity for personal and societal growth.

A *2-man Selection Committee* was constituted to ensure merit-based selection:
- *Ulap Sunday Okon*, Vice President 1
- *Engr. Ubong Tom*, Secretary General
The President charged the committee to select only dedicated and deserving members.

*5. Skill Acquisition & Training*
As part of the One Year Anniversary activities, the President announced that *Skill Acquisition and Training* for members will be organized on the anniversary day.

*6. Account Presentation Deferred*
Due to low turnout caused by the heavy downpour, the President, in line with his commitment to transparency and equity, deferred the *Presentation of the One-Year Account* of Obio Mkparawa Oro Ajah Branch to the *August Meeting* to ensure a full house.

*7. Adjournment*
The meeting was adjourned by *Ulap Victoria Utuodong* and seconded by *Ulap Daniel E***a*.
This was followed by refreshment and entertainment.

*REPORT OF ATTENDANCE AT JOINT STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING*

The Obio Mkparawa Oro, a socio-cultural umbrella body with three active branches, Ajegunle, Ittire, and Ajah convened a Joint Stakeholders’ Meeting today at Oron House, Ittire.

The Ajah Branch was ably represented by a delegation led by the Branch President, *Admin. Nicolas Etim*.

*Highlights of the President’s Report to the National House:*
1. *State of the Branch*: The President reported that Ajah Branch is stable, united, and recording steady progress under the present administration.
2. *One-Year Anniversary Invitation*: He formally announced and invited the National Executive to the Branch’s One-Year Anniversary, marking one year since the inauguration of the current administration in June 2025. He described the past year as one characterized by *hard work, unity, progress, and accountability*.
3. *Acquisition of a Permanent Secretariat*: The President also briefed the National House on the Branch’s strategic plan to acquire a permanent meeting facility to enhance its operations and identity.

The meeting was characterized by unity, strategic engagements, and a renewed commitment to the forward movement of Oro Nation in Lagos.

*OBIO MKPARAWA ORO AJAH BRANCH CONDOLES WITH CHIEF JOSEPH ITA AFFIANG AT THE WAKE KEEPING OF HIS FOSTER MOTHER*

The Obio Mkparawa Oro Ajah Branch was in full attendance at the wake keeping of *Late Mrs. Rosaline Enobong Offiong*, the beloved foster mother of our *Eti-Obio, Chief Joseph Ita Affiang*, held on *Friday, 19th June 2026*.

The event recorded a massive turnout of the Branch Executive, both past and present, alongside committed members who came out en masse to pay their last respects.

The President of Obio Mkparawa Oro Ajah Branch, Admin. Nicolas Etim, was ably represented by his vice, *Engr. Sunday Okon Asuquo*, who delivered a heartfelt goodwill message and heartfelt condolences on behalf of the entire branch.

In true Oro heritage, the Obio Mkparawa Oro Ajah Branch honored the occasion with rich cultural performances, paying homage and giving the foster mother of our Eti-Obio the befitting final respect she deserved.

The solemn night was crowned with prayers for the bereaved family, led by *Apostle Solomon Mensong*. It was indeed a night of culture, praises, solidarity, and good wishes for the peaceful repose of the departed.
