T**e Makinwa replies troll who mocked her for being unmarried at age 39:

Media personality and actress, T**e Makinwa clashes with a troll who unwarrantedly mocked her for being unmarried at her big age. This came after the former OAP took to TikTok to express the buzz around the marriage of Davido and Chioma while emphasizing the pressure on single people, including herself.

The troll, identified as Nelson Oluu took to the X platform to remark that T**e has moved beyond the “single era” and is now in her “unmarried era.”

“You have passed the single era, you are now unmarried,” he stated.

In response, unbothered T**e Makinwa assured the troll of witnessing her transformation soon from being single to a lawfully wedded wife.

“God will do my own and you’ll be alive to congratulate me. Happy Sunday o,” she wrote.

In another tweet, she mentioned the choice of raining curses on the troll but cautioned herself.

“If I curse am now, you’ll say I’m mean. Love n light,” she added.

No Plans To Increase Fuel Price – NNPC Reassures Nigerians:

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has moved to dispel concerns and speculations about an imminent increase in fuel prices. In a statement released by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, the NNPCL assures the Nigerian public that there is no plan to raise the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

This clarification comes in response to reports suggesting a potential hike in fuel prices, with some sources proposing a figure as high as N1,200 per litre based on market realities. The NNPCL urges Nigerians to dismiss these unfounded claims and emphasizes that there are no intentions for an upward review of the PMS price.

In the statement, the NNPCL addresses concerns related to panic buying, stating that there is currently ample availability of petroleum products across the country. Motorists nationwide are advised against engaging in panic buying as there is no impending increase in fuel prices.

Recent reports, including an article by Punch Newspaper, hinted at a disagreement between the NNPCL and fuel marketers regarding the recent fuel subsidy removal. The disagreement is occurring against the backdrop of the country's weakening currency against the US dollar in both the official Investors & Exporters Window and the parallel market.

Oil marketers interviewed by the newspaper asserted that, in a free market, PMS should be priced at N1,200 per litre, citing the rising gasoline subsidies in response to the depreciation of the naira against the US dollar and fluctuations in crude oil prices.

In light of these developments, the NNPCL's reassurance serves as a vital communication to the public, aiming to dispel rumors and maintain confidence in the stability of fuel prices. As the nation grapples with economic challenges, the NNPCL's commitment to transparency becomes crucial in addressing concerns and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to meet the nation's needs.

NUC Releases List of Unlicensed Universities in Nigeria, Issues Warning: In a recent development, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has unveiled a roster of universities operating unlawfully in Nigeria. This revelation comes through a notice signed by the acting secretary of the NUC, Chris Maiyaki, indicating that these institutions have been shut down by the government and are currently under investigation.

The disclosed list comprises universities that lack the essential license from the federal government, and the attached note emphasizes that engaging with or obtaining degrees from these unauthorized institutions is done at one's own peril. Furthermore, the statement issues a stern warning, stating that certificates obtained from these entities will not be recognized for the purpose of NYSC, employment, or further studies.

The gravity of the situation is underscored by recent arrests related to the activities of these illegal universities. Chris Maiyaki, confirming the developments, revealed that the Department of State Services (DSS) has been actively involved in clamping down on these unapproved institutions.

This disclosure follows an investigative report by journalist Umar Audu, who uncovered a fake certificate syndicate originating from Benin Republic and Togo. Nigerians have reportedly been patronizing these fraudulent activities.

See List:

In response to the ongoing crackdown, the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, emphasized on Wednesday that the federal government's sanctions against fake results will extend beyond Benin and Togo. The Minister outlined plans to broaden the scope of the clampdown, reaching countries such as Uganda, Kenya, and Niger Republic.

The NUC's proactive steps in addressing unlicensed universities and the collaboration with security agencies signal a robust effort to maintain the integrity of the educational system and protect individuals from fraudulent academic practices. As the government takes stringent measures, it becomes crucial for the public to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of educational institutions to safeguard their academic pursuits and future endeavors.

Ireland Extends Work Permits to International Professionals in Key Sectors: The Republic of Ireland has initiated a commendable move by offering work permits to foreign talent through its Critical Skills Employment Permit program. This targeted initiative aims to address the shortage of skilled workers in specific professions within Ireland.

Primarily designed for individuals outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, or Switzerland, such as those from countries like Nigeria, the application process involves securing permission to work in Ireland through the acquisition of an employment permit.

Critical Skills Employment Permit Overview

This program, managed by the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment (DETE), focuses on skilled workers identified in the Critical Skills Occupation List. Applicants must submit their requests before arriving in Ireland, often requiring a visa. Upon arrival, mandatory steps include registration and obtaining an Irish Residence Permit.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a Critical Skills Employment Permit, individuals must meet specific criteria, including an annual salary of €32,000 or more for occupations listed on the Critical Skills Occupation List (or €64,000 for other occupations). Permits are not granted for companies where over 50% of employees are non-EEA nationals, with potential exemptions for start-ups supported by Enterprise Ireland or IDA Ireland.

Qualifications, relevant skills, and a job offer from a registered employer are crucial components. The job offer must be for a duration of two years or more. Notably, a labour market needs test is not required for this permit, eliminating the necessity for advertising the job. Those invited for a job interview from the Critical Skills Occupations List can avail a Highly Skilled Job Interview Authorization, allowing a stay of up to 90 days.

Application Process

Applications are submitted online through the Employment Permits Online System (EPOS), accompanied by a fee of €1,000, payable by either the applicant or the employer. Refused applications are refunded 90% of the fee. Successful applicants outside Ireland may still need a visa, presenting their employment permit to immigration upon entry.

Registration at a local office upon arrival is mandatory, leading to the issuance of an Irish Residence Permit. Families can join permit holders, with separate visa applications for family members from countries requiring visas. De-facto partners may need preclearance or a visa, and children follow the same process.

How to Apply

The application for a Critical Skills Employment Permit can be submitted by either the applicant or the employer to the Employment Permits Section of the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Employment. The Employment Permits Online System (EPOS) is the designated platform for online applications, requiring the submission of necessary documentation. A fee of €1,000 must be paid, with a 90% refund applicable in case of application refusal.

Bringing in Dependents

Spouses or de-facto partners aged 16 and over must register and obtain an IRP, with the option for a Stamp 1G IRP for work without a permit. Other family members may apply for a Dependent/Spouse/Partner Employment Permit, enhancing the inclusivity of this commendable initiative.

Sad News: Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, Passes Away After Battle With Leukemia At the age of 67

In a heartbreaking development, Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has succumbed to his battle with leukemia. A reliable family source informed SaharaReporters on Wednesday that the governor breathed his last in Lagos.

It was revealed that Akeredolu had been under the care of State House doctors until his demise, as his deteriorating health prevented him from being flown abroad for treatment.

"Akeredolu is dead; he died in Lagos," the source disclosed. "They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week."

At the age of 67, Akeredolu returned to Nigeria in September after a three-month medical leave in Germany. Recently, he took another leave as directed by President Bola Tinubu, handing over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Aiyedatiwa has been serving as the Acting Governor during this period.

Upon his return to Nigeria in September, Akeredolu attempted to govern from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, sparking public outrage.

On July 9, Akeredolu's wife, Betty, announced the suspension of activities planned for her 70th birthday. The decision was made amid concerns about hosting festivities given her husband's ailing health.

In a series of Twitter posts, she said, "Hello Family and Friends. This is to inform you that all activities lined up to mark my 70th birthday are hereby suspended till further notice due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this development."

"Nevertheless, be assured that I will be celebrated in style upon my return. Thank you for your understanding. I remain Arabinrin a.k.a Ada Owere I," she added.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported in January that Akeredolu was battling leukemia. Leukemia, a cancer of the blood characterized by an abnormal increase in white blood cells, severely affected the governor's health.

For leukemia sufferers, the excess white blood cells hinder the production of red blood cells and platelets essential for a healthy body. The cancer compromises the body's ability to fight infections, with various types such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Treatment for leukemia can be intricate and is dependent on the type and other factors. Symptoms include weakness, bruising, infections, pain in bones or joints, headaches, weight loss, and swollen lymph nodes.

The passing of Governor Akeredolu marks the end of an era, leaving a void in the political landscape of Ondo State. May he rest in peace.

In her words:

“When I tell people I never witnessed sexual harassment in the music industry they are always surprised. Firstly, in real life, I was a tomboy and secondly, I always use to threaten people on how I will import people from Benin to f**k everybody up. Then they fear me for that Lagos.

How I became a transgender – Bobrisky opens up:

The enigmatic and often controversial Nigerian figure, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, recently sat down with Charly Boy for an eye-opening interview. In this candid conversation, Bobrisky sheds light on the remarkable journey that led to his transformation into a transgender individual.

Bobrisky reveals that his venture into crossdressing initially stemmed from a shrewd business move during his days as a student at the University of Lagos. What started as selling unisex clothing gradually evolved into a profound exploration of identity and self-expression.

Little did Bobrisky know that this seemingly innocuous decision would pave the way for an entirely new persona, captivating audiences far and wide.

Despite facing initial reservations from his parents, Bobrisky bravely embraced his true self, thanks to their eventual support. He credits them for empowering him to live authentically and proudly as a transgender individual.

In his own words, Bobrisky's journey is a testament to the power of self-discovery and acceptance.

“About nine years ago, I was at the University of Lagos studying Accounting. I also had a side hustle, I was selling unisex clothes. Most times I try the female wears on myself and I love the outfits.

“From there, I moved to female hairstyles to makeup and more women were patronizing my business. So I decided to keep crossdressing since it was lucrative.

“I wasn’t thinking I was going to do it for a very long time. Initially, it was just a marketing strategy but people were complimenting me that I look better as a woman than a man. That’s how I ended up being Bobrisky.”
