# #❤️ END OF LOVE
# # EPISODE 14: PRICE FOR LOVE
Arranged on the table were different kinds of fruits, a cup of assorted juice, and a plate of fried rice. I positioned myself to devour the food when one of the students living in the boys' quarters came inside.
From the way he looked at me, it was obvious that he wasn't happy about my presence there.
Don't forget that Morolake had called me the previous night to come over to their quarters and check on her. It was when I arrived that I discovered that her uncle had travelled.
So, back to this guy whom Morolake called Frank.
It was obvious that he never liked me and didn't want me anywhere near Morolake.
I thought to myself, *"This is another wahala. Will I lose this girl to this stupid boy again?"*
Anyway, as we Yoruba people would say, **"Ohun tí a bá wájà là ń wò; ènìkan kì í wò ariwo ọjà."**
Meaning: *It is what you came to the market to do that you should focus on, not the noise of the market.*
I had been with Morolake for almost ten hours, and evening had arrived. I told Morolake that I was leaving.
She became angry and said she would miss me. She persuaded me to sleep over until the next day, and considering the fact that I loved her, I agreed.
The first day passed.
By the evening of the second day, I checked the time and realized that it was getting late. I asked Morolake for permission to return to my aunt's house.
She started murmuring again, saying that I didn't love her.
*"Will you leave me alone at the mercy of that guy called Frank?"* she asked.
To be sincere, Frank and I had not had a single conversation since I arrived the previous night.
Morolake had told me that Frank wanted to ask her out, but she had declined. And because I never wanted to lose her again, I agreed to stay until the third day.
But deep down, I wasn't happy about it.
I had dressed up since the afternoon, preparing to leave early. But now, what would I do?
I was still watching one of the TV reality shows when I suddenly noticed a bright light approaching our quarters.
I called Morolake.
*"Who could that be?"* I asked.
Morolake screamed.
I nearly fainted.
*"That is my uncle—the professor!"*
*"Modaran!"* I exclaimed. *"Morolake, you've finally put me into trouble. What do you want me to tell him? If it were afternoon, I could say I just branched in to greet you. But this is fifteen minutes to nine o'clock in the night!"*
Morolake told me to calm down.
*"Let me talk to Frank about it,"* she said.
She was about to open the door to go to Frank's quarters when, suddenly, her uncle appeared at the door.
She quickly composed herself and welcomed him.
Her uncle had told her that he would be spending two weeks away on the journey. The entire family had travelled together, except Morolake, who had given one or two excuses for not travelling with them.
She collected her uncle's briefcase and walked behind him.
I was already in the sitting room. That was where I had been since the afternoon anyway.
When the professor saw me, he stopped.
He looked at me carefully and asked,
*"Young man, who are you?"*
As I was about to answer, Morolake quickly spoke up.
*"He's Frank's friend, sir. He only came to watch the reality show with us."*
The professor simply said, *"Okay,"* and proceeded inside.
Just then, Frank appeared.
Morolake quickly touched him on the back and whispered,
*"I have told him that Richard is your friend. Please, cover up for me."*
Frank looked at her and hissed.
*"Whose friend? I don't know what you're saying."*
After saying those words, he followed the professor inside.
Where I sat, I nearly messed up my trousers.
So many thoughts were running through my mind.
*"What if Frank tells the professor that he doesn't know me? Won't the professor think I'm a burglar or a thief and hand me over to the police?"*
I stood up.
I sat back down.
Then I stood up again.
My mind was racing.
The three of them had gone inside, and for the next two minutes, none of them came out.
*"What were they discussing in there?"*
*"Wasn't it my matter they were discussing?"*
After about three minutes, I suddenly heard footsteps approaching.
I froze.
**Then...**
