Meet Sheila Ebana, the incredible woman behind football sensation Lamine Yamal.

Originally from Equatorial Guinea, Sheila immigrated to Spain in search of a better life. She became a young mother when Lamine was born in 2007.

After separating from his father when Lamine was about three years old, she took on the responsibility of raising him largely on her own, working modest jobs to put food on the table and support her son’s dream.

Money was scarce. Life was difficult. But she never allowed hardship to become an excuse to stop believing in her son. She encouraged him, supported him, and ensured he kept chasing his passion for football.

Today, that little boy has become a FIFA World Cup champion and one of the brightest young talents the game has ever seen. At just 19 years old, many already believe he has the potential to become one of football’s all-time greats.

So to every single mother out there: your current struggles do not define your child’s future. Keep loving them. Keep believing in them. Keep praying for them. Your greatest achievement may not be the life you’re building for yourself, but the life you’re making possible for your child.

The world celebrates Lamine Yamal today… but behind every applause is a mother whose sacrifices made the impossible possible. ❤️🙌🏽⚽

Sir, every successful star was once given a chance. We believe that with your support and the intervention of the NDDC, many hidden talents in Oro can be discovered, developed, and transformed into global ambassadors who will make our communities and the Niger Delta proud.

We humbly plead with you to look in our direction. Help us create platforms where young entertainers can showcase their talents. Support talent hunts, music concerts, comedy shows, dance competitions, training workshops, recording opportunities, and empowerment programs that will help us build sustainable careers.

Your investment in young entertainers is an investment in the future. It will reduce unemployment, discourage crime and social vices, promote peace, preserve our rich cultural heritage, and inspire hope among thousands of talented youths who only need one opportunity to succeed.
