IBIONO IBOM COUNCIL BOSS RECEIVES IWADU BOT ON COURTESY VISIT

The Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Rt. Hon Asuakak Umoh, Yesterday, December 17 received the Board of Trustees of Ibiono Ibom Welfare and Development Union (IWADU) in his office on a courtesy visit

The BOT Chairman, Chief Anselem Eyo, said they came to congratulate Umoh on his emergence as Executive Chairman and also discuss important developmental matters

Chief Eyo commended the Chairman’s effort in fostering unity and development in the Local Government and expressed optimism about his leadership, stating that his emergence is a promising step towards a better and more secure future for Ibiono Ibom.

In response, the Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom, Rt Hon Asuakak Umoh commended members of IWADU for their commitments to the peace and progress of Ibiono Ibom and assured them of his administration’s support

Akwa Ibom State Government Announces N80,000 Minimum Wage, Constitutes Implementation Committee

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced that the State Government will pay a new minimum wage of N80,000 for all state government employees.

To ensure a smooth rollout of this policy, the governor has also constituted an implementation committee, which has been given one month to deliver its report on how the wage increase will be executed.

The committee, chaired by the Head of the Civil Service, includes the following as members:

• Chairman, Local Government Service Commission
• Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance
• Permanent Secretary, Department of Establishments
• Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning

• Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission
• Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Civil Service
• Director of Budget
• State Chairman, Joint Public Service Negotiating Council

IBIONO IBOM LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL CONSTITUTES STANDING COMMITTEES
. As Leader Promises Robust Working Relationship with the Executive Arm

The Ibiono Ibom Legislative Council has commenced its Legislative Year with the inauguration of eleven Standing Committees to gear up the 8th Council for effective and robust Legislative business

The Leader of the Legislature Rt. (Hon) idorenyin Umoren constituted the committees at the first plenary held on Tuesday 22nd October, 2024 at Ibiono Ibom Legislative Chambers, Okoita.

The Committee on Education, Youth and Sports has Hon. Aniebiet John as Chairman, Hon. Imo udofia- secretary, Hon. Ekomobong Ikon- member while the Committee on Health has Hon. Eno Sam as Chairman, Hon. Iboro Alphonsus- secretary and Hon. Uwem Usua- member. The committee on Works, Housing and Transport/Town Planning is chaired by Hon. David Ntuen, Hon. Iboro Alphonsus- secretary and Hon. Ekomobong Ikon- member

Also constituted were the Committees on Agriculture and Natural Resources Hon. Uwem Usua- Chairman, Hon. Faith Bassey, secretary and Hon. Charles Udobia as member. The Committee on Appropriation and Finance has Hon. Innocent Linus as Chairman, Hon. Aniebiet John as secretary and Hon. Ita Bassey as member. The committee on Rules, business, ethics and privileges is chaired by Hon. Iboro Alphonsus, Hon. Imo Udofia serves as secretary and Hon. Innocent Linus member

The Leader further inaugurated the Committee on Women Affairs, which has Hon. Faith Bassey as Chairman, Hon. Ekomobong Ikon as Secretary, and Hon. Eno Sam as a member. The committee on Political and Chieftaincy Matters has Hon. Uwem Usua as Chairman, Hon. David Ntuen as secretary and Hon. Ubong Akpan as member. The Media and Publicity Committee is chaired by Hon. Southern Ibiono Ibom Endorses Hon. Asuakak Umoh.
.. Pledges Maximum Support For His Election.

In a symbolic political event, Communities in Southern Ibiono Ibom have officially endorsed the PDP Chairmanship candidate for Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, Hon. Asuakak Umoh. The endorsement took place on Tuesday August 27, at Ikot Osukpong, the country home of the former Speaker of the House of Assembly and Chairman of the Eti Ini Ukara Campaign Organisation, Engr. Ignatius Edet.

Setting the tone for the exercise, the former Commissioner for Information Hon. Gordon Etop Idung warmly welcomed elders, women, and youths of Ibiono Ibom Southern. He reemphasized that the choice of Hon. Asuakak Umoh as the consensus Chairmanship candidate of Ibiono Ibom was solidified by the major stakeholders of Ibiono Ibom in the presence of Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, hence the people of Ibiono Ibom Southern will give him maximum support to ensure he is elected as the Executive Chairman of Ibiono Ibom. "Today in Southern Ibiono Ibom, we have brought him here to officially endorse him. We will give him the necessary support and votes to win the election," Hon. Etop Idung declared.

Addressing the gathering, The Director General of the Eti Ini Ukara Campaign Organisation, Pastor Joseph Udoh, expressed gratitude to the people of Southern Ibiono Ibom for their trust and acceptance of Hon. Asuakak Umoh. He reassured them that Asuakak Umoh will make Ibiono Ibom proud, when elected as the Executive Chairman.

Responding, the PDP Chairmanship candidate for Ibiono Ibom, Hon Asuakak Umoh, expressed gratitude to the people of Southern Ibiono Ibom for the trust, confidence, and warm reception accorded him, and pledged never to disappoint their trust when elected as the Chairman of Ibiono Ibom. In a show of solidarity, "The Think Tank" support group from Southern Ibiono Ibom led by Mr. Fred Ekong, on Monday, August 26, 2024, paid a courtesy visit on Hon. Asuakak Umoh, the PDP Chairmanship candidate for Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.

ASUAKAK UMOH UNVEILS VISION FOR IBIONO IBOM, INAUGURATES CAMPAIGN COUNCIL

Hon. Asuakak Umoh, Chairmanship Candidate for Ibiono Ibom, has launched his campaign committee ahead of the local government election. The inauguration ceremony held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, held at ikpa pavilion saw Obong Churchill Udoh unveiled as the Patron of the campaign council.

Hon Umoh promised a brighter future for Ibiono Ibom, vowing to bring development to every region. His campaign prioritizes improving lives and harnessing natural resources for the benefit of the people.

The campaign council, tagged "Eti-Ini Ukara Campaign Organisation", aims to elect Umoh as Chairman. He charged the appointed officials to discharge their duties meticulously, ensuring a landslide victory.
