FCT police rescue 12-year-old girl being r@ped inside a parked car after noticing the car shaking

The FCT Police Command have arrested one Zazzayanu Halilu for allegedly r@ping a 12-year-old girl inside a car on Oct. 2nd.

According to SP Josephine Adeh, spokesperson of the command, the arrest was effected after operatives while on routine patrol around Airport Bridge Taxi Park, observed a fully tinted navy blue Volkswagen vehicle with registration number KMC567LQ parked with its windows wound up. However, the vehicle was shaking.

Adeh said the officers, suspecting foul play, approached the vehicle and opened it, only to see the suspect r@ping the minor.

She mentioned that following the discovery, the suspect was promptly arrested and the victim was rescued. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had, on several occasions, lured and sexu@lly abused the underaged victim in the said vehicle parked at the same location, with threats to “deal with her” if she reveals the abuse to anyone.

Adeh said medical examination also revealed that the victim is about three months pregnant as a result of the abuse. She said the victim is currently receiving medical care and assessment, while the suspect remains in Police custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

18 FEARED DEAD, MANY INJURED IN PLATEAU MULTIPLE-VEHICLE CRASH

At least 18 persons are feared dead, with several others injured, following a multiple-vehicle crash at Hwan Kibo in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The tragic incident occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on Friday and reportedly involved a truck and several other vehicles.

The crash threw the area into confusion as residents and other road users rushed to the scene to assist victims and provide emergency support.

Confirming the incident, the Plateau State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Adelaja Ogungbemi, said the accident was caused by brake failure.

Ogungbemi explained that the truck’s braking system failed, causing the driver to lose control and crash into other vehicles.

Rescue operations were subsequently launched at the scene, while the injured victims were taken for medical attention.

# JUST IN: TROOPS ARREST SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER, RESCUE THREE VICTIMS, RECOVER ARMS IN ANAMBRA

Troops of the Nigerian Army's Operation UDO KA, working alongside the Anambra Vigilante Group, have arrested a suspected kidnapper identified as Sunday Obi following an operation connected with the abduction of three persons in Anambra State.

According to the Nigerian Army, the three victims were abducted around the Osakwa General Area of Ihiala Local Government Area. Security forces subsequently launched a rescue operation and successfully recovered the victims.

On October 1, 2026, troops conducted a follow-up operation that resulted in the arrest of Sunday Obi. Information reportedly obtained during interrogation led security personnel to a suspected syndicate hideout at Abator in Ogbaru Local Government Area, across the Isieke waterside.

Acting on the intelligence, troops crossed the waterways using canoes and advanced toward the suspected camp. The Army reported that armed suspects at the location were engaged by the security forces before fleeing into the surrounding area.

A search of the hideout led to the recovery of two AK-47 ri**es with magazines, three pump-action guns, three locally fabricated Dane guns, 62 rounds of 7.62mm NATO am******on, 149 rounds of 7.62mm Special am******on and two cartridges.

Security personnel also recovered materials suspected to have been intended for the fabrication of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), alongside a solar generator, power bank, car battery, motorcycle batteries, solar panels and mobile phones.

The Nigerian Army said follow-up operations are continuing to locate other suspects who escaped, as well as alleged collaborators, logistics suppliers and facilitators connected with the network.

Three women were killed and another person injured when gunmen attacked a mining site in Rakum community, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau state on Monday.

The attackers reportedly stormed the mining site at about 4:30 p.m. and opened fire on people working there before fleeing the area.

The incident occurred amid heightened security concerns in parts of Plateau, particularly Barkin Ladi, Mangu and Bokkos, where the state government recently imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew following a series of attacks.

The spokesperson for the Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, confirmed the latest attack to journalists in Jos.

Mr Tengwong said the attackers targeted the mining site, killing three women and injuring another person.

“This is another sad development that has further heightened concerns over the safety of people working and living in the area,” he said.

He urged security agencies to track down the attackers and ensure that those responsible are arrested and prosecuted.

A member of the affected community, John Silas, also confirmed the attack, saying it occurred in the evening while miners were carrying out their activities.

“The attackers came to the mining site and opened fire on the people there. Three women were killed, and another person was injured,” Mr Silas said.

He appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts to prevent further attacks in the community.

The latest incident adds to a series of violent attacks reported in parts of Plateau in recent weeks, despite measures by the state government and security agencies to contain the violence.

The Plateau State Government appealed to residents to remain calm and law-abiding, saying it was working with security agencies to protect lives and property.

There was no immediate statement from the police or military on Monday’s attack.

Authorities are expected to clarify the circumstances of the attack and whether any arrests have been made.
