Call for Applications:
Become an Encryption Champion Campus Ambassador.
Are you passionate about digital security, privacy, and technology? Do you want to help build a safer digital future on your campus?
The Encryption Advocates Council (EAC) is pleased to invite applications from motivated students across tertiary institutions in Africa to join the Encryption Champions Campus Ambassador Programme, a special Encryption Day Advocacy Initiative.
This two-month programme aims to equip selected student leaders and secondary stakeholders* with practical knowledge, advocacy skills, and a comprehensive Encryption Champions Toolkit to promote the adoption of encrypted tools and services within their campuses and online communities.
* Our Secondary Stakeholders are Campus lecturers, digital rights advocates, and civil society members.
About the Programme...
The Encryption Champions Campus Ambassador Programme is designed to build a network of young digital security advocates who will raise awareness about:
* Encryption and why it matters;
* Digital privacy and online safety;
* Secure communication tools;
* Password security and multi-factor authentication;
* Responsible digital citizenship;
* Safe use of online platforms and services.
Selected ambassadors will receive training, advocacy resources, mentorship, and ongoing support to organize peer awareness activities in their institutions.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants should:
* Be enrolled in a recognized university, polytechnic, college of education, or other tertiary institution in Africa;
* Demonstrate interest in digital rights, cybersecurity, technology, or community engagement;
* Be willing to organize awareness activities on campus or online;
* Be available to participate in virtual training sessions during the two-month programme;
* Have good communication and teamwork skills.
No prior technical cybersecurity experience is required. Students from all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Ambassador Responsibilities...
Selected Campus Ambassadors will:
* Participate in all virtual orientation and training sessions;
* Familiarize themselves with the Encryption Champions Toolkit;
* Promote Encryption Day activities within their institutions;
* Conduct at least one campus or online awareness activity during the programme;
* Share educational content through social media and student networks;
* Submit a brief activity report at the end of the programme.

- Application Opens: Monday, July 27, 2026.
- Application Deadline: Monday, August 31, 2026.
- Selection Notification: Friday, September 11, 2026.
- Virtual Orientation: Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
- Programme Duration: Two months.
- Encryption Day Campaign Activities: During the programme period.
