CHAPTER 18 – WHY I RETURNED TO FASHION DESIGN

After spending time helping my brother at the cyber café, one thing was still on my mind.

I wanted to build a future for myself.

Since the promise of going back to school was no longer becoming a reality, I knew I had to learn a skill that could help me survive.

That was when I decided to return to fashion design in 2014.

This wasn't my first encounter with tailoring. Before I moved to Lagos, I had already learned for about a year in Okeho. But after relocating, life interrupted that journey.

Going back to fashion design wasn't an easy decision, but I believed it was the right one.

I didn't know where the journey would lead me, but I was determined to learn, improve, and become someone people could be proud of.

Looking back today, I can see that every stitch I made was another step towards the future God was preparing for me.

CHAPTER 17 – MY FIRST JOB IN LAGOS

When I arrived in Lagos in 2012, I was still holding on to one promise—that I would continue my education.

As I waited for that promise to become reality, I couldn't afford to sit at home doing nothing.

My elder brother had a cyber café, so I started helping him with computer work.

For many people, it might have looked like an ordinary job, but for me, it was another classroom.

I learned how to attend to customers, how to operate computers, and how to be responsible.

Deep inside me, I still wished to return to school, but I decided to make good use of every opportunity that came my way.

Looking back today, I now understand that God was preparing me through every experience, even when life wasn't going the way I had planned.

Sometimes, the lessons we learn outside the classroom become the ones that shape our future the most.

CHAPTER 16 – WHEN MY EXPECTATIONS CHANGED

When I arrived in Lagos, I was full of hope.

I believed I would soon be enrolled in school because that was the promise my family had given me.

Every day, I kept waiting.

I believed it was only a matter of time before my education would continue.

But as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, I began to realize that things were not going the way I expected.

Instead of preparing me for school, I was given different kinds of work to do.

The promise that brought me to Lagos slowly began to fade.

It was painful.

Not because I hated work, but because I still had a strong desire to continue my education.

Even though I didn't understand why life was taking that direction, I refused to lose hope completely.

I kept believing that one day, my story would change.

Looking back today, I know that some disappointments become part of the journey that shapes us into stronger people.

CHAPTER 15 – THE JOURNEY TO LAGOS

After the issue of the missing phone, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life.

In August 2012, I left Okeho for Lagos.

Like many young people, I believed Lagos would give me a better future.

My family in Lagos promised that I would continue my education.

That promise gave me hope.

I left my hometown believing that my dream of going back to school was still alive.

Leaving Okeho wasn't easy.

I was leaving behind my parents, my friends, and the environment where I had spent most of my childhood.

I didn't know what was waiting for me in Lagos.

I only carried hope in my heart and trusted that tomorrow would be better.

Looking back today, I realize that life doesn't always go the way we plan.

Sometimes, the journey we choose because of hope leads us into seasons we never expected.

But even in those moments, God never stopped watching over me.

CHAPTER 14 – THE PHONE THAT CHANGED MY LIFE

Life was moving on, and I had just finished my JSS3 examination.

Like every young boy, I believed the next step was to continue my education.

But something happened that completely changed the direction of my life.

A classmate accused me of losing his phone.

He demanded that I replace it with a new one.

The truth was simple—I didn't have the money.

Coming from a humble family of farmers, buying a new phone was beyond what I could afford.

The pressure kept increasing, and I didn't know what to do.

After thinking about it for days, I made a difficult decision.

In August 2012, I left Okeho and travelled to Lagos.

I believed life would become better there.

I believed I would continue my education.

I believed new opportunities were waiting for me.

Little did I know that another chapter of my life was about to begin.

Looking back today, I can see that what looked like the end of one journey was actually the beginning of another.

Sometimes life changes without your permission. Even when you don't understand the journey, keep moving forward and trust that God can still bring good out of difficult moments.

CHAPTER 13 – THE DAY PEOPLE JUDGED ME WITHOUT KNOWING ME

One thing I really enjoyed while growing up in the village was going into the bush with my friends.

Because we were village boys, we sometimes went hunting for bush meat. Other times, we went to catch catfish. To us, it was normal. It was part of our lifestyle, and we always looked forward to those adventures.

Among the friends I usually moved with was a boy whose family was richer than ours.

My parents were farmers, and his mother looked down on families like ours. She didn't want her son to continue following me and my other friends.

Then one day, something happened that broke my mum's heart.

A man who called himself a pastor told my mum that I was a cultist.

He even claimed that I was the leader of a cult.

When my mum heard those words, she cried. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

The painful part was that none of it was true.

Looking back today, I believe people had already formed opinions about me because of the kind of life we lived in the village and because of the friends I spent time with. Instead of finding out the truth, they chose to believe a lie.

That experience taught me something I will never forget.

Not everyone who speaks confidently is speaking the truth.

Not everyone who calls themselves a servant of God truly speaks for God.

And not everyone who judges you actually knows you.

Today, I thank God because the truth always stands, no matter how long a lie travels.

People may judge you because of where you come from, who you associate with, or what they hear about you. Don't live to satisfy people's opinions. Live a life that honors God, and let your character speak for itself.

CHAPTER 13 – WHERE MY CREATIVE JOURNEY TOOK A NEW TURN

After I started writing stories with my friend Basit and writing songs inspired by church sermons, another chapter of my life began.

I joined the Drama Ministry in church.

At that time, I wasn't thinking about making movies. I simply wanted to serve God with the gift He had given me.

Being part of the drama team taught me that stories can change lives. Every rehearsal and every ministration showed me that a message becomes more powerful when people can see it and connect with it.

Years later, as technology continued to grow, I discovered AI.

That discovery gave me a new way to tell the stories that had been in my heart for years.

Today, I create AI movies, not just for entertainment, but to share meaningful messages that can inspire people and point them toward God.

One of those projects is The Chosen King.

When I look back now, I can see that nothing was wasted. Writing stories, writing songs, serving in drama ministry, and now creating AI movies—they are all parts of the same journey.

God can use every season of your life to prepare you for the next one. What starts as a small passion today may become the platform through which you impact lives tomorrow.

CHAPTER 12 – HOW CHURCH SERMONS INSPIRED MY SONGS

One thing many people don't know about me is that my love for writing songs started in church.

Whenever I listened to powerful sermons, some messages would stay in my heart long after the service had ended.

Instead of just listening and forgetting, I began turning those messages into songs.

I wasn't doing it because I wanted fame or recognition. I simply wanted to express what God was teaching me through His Word.

Looking back today, I can see that God was preparing me step by step.

First, I loved writing stories.

Then I started writing songs inspired by sermons.

Later, drama ministry and filmmaking became part of my journey.

Everything didn't happen at once. It happened one step at a time.

As I continue to grow, I thank God for every gift He has placed in my life. I pray that every talent He has given me will continue to bring glory to His name and be a blessing to others.

CHAPTER 11 – WRITING STORIES WITH MY FRIEND BASIT

Looking back now, I realize my love for creativity didn't start with filmmaking.

It started with a pen, a notebook, and a good friend.

When I was in JSS3, my best friend, Basit Akolade, and I loved writing stories together.

We would sit down, create different characters, imagine different scenes, and write them out.

At that time, we were just having fun.

We never imagined that those little moments were preparing me for something bigger.

Today, when people see my interest in filmmaking and storytelling, they don't know that the journey started years ago in secondary school with a simple notebook.

Sometimes, God plants a seed in your life long before you understand what it will become.

Looking back, I can boldly say that those days of writing stories were the beginning of my creative journey.

Never despise small beginnings. What you enjoy doing today may become the very thing God uses to shape your future.
