Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has revealed that the deplorable condition of roads and absence of basic amenities in parts of Enugu Ukwu and Aguleri moved him to tears during a visit.

Speaking at an All Progressives Grand Alliance campaign rally in Anambra East, Soludo recounted his experience while touring the affected communities. He described how the journey to Enugu Ukwu took several hours on a badly damaged road and how residents lamented their lack of hospitals, electricity, and clean water. The governor noted that the sight of school children holding placards listing their needs left a deep impression on him.

According to him, many schools in the area lacked teachers, furniture, and proper roofing, while residents had limited access to healthcare and other essential services. The situation, he said, represented the level of infrastructural neglect that had persisted for years.

According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, 22, Soludo explained that his administration had since made significant progress in improving the living conditions of the people. He highlighted recent projects, including the construction of a new general hospital equipped with medical staff, installation of solar-powered boreholes, and extension of electricity lines to some communities.
