Sister, if you’re waiting to become perfect before you start, you might wait forever. 😂
And if you’re waiting to become confident before you start, my sister, confidence may never come that way.
Let me tell you what learning how to drive taught me.
There was a time when I was so scared of driving.
I would sit down and think:
What if I hit somebody? 😩
What if I lose control?
What if I make a terrible mistake?
Honestly, driving looked like one big impossible thing to me.
I started learning, but my first experience was not encouraging at all.
In fact, it made me feel like maybe I just couldn’t learn how to drive.
I struggled so much that I almost gave up.
But I knew I needed to learn.
I have children.
I wanted to be able to take them to school, go where I needed to go and have the freedom to move around without depending on somebody every time.
So I told myself:
“Okay, maybe the first place didn’t work for me. Let me try again.”
This time, I asked around, looked for recommendations and found another instructor.
And that man changed everything for me.
He was patient.
He was encouraging.
Even when I made the same mistake over and over again, he didn’t make me feel stupid.
At one point, I struggled so much with controlling the steering that I was almost frustrated with myself.
But this man kept telling me:
“You can do it. You will learn it.”
And do you know what happened?
I started believing him.
I kept practising.
I kept making mistakes.
I kept trying.
And little by little, I got better.
Today, when you see me handling the steering, you might never believe that this same person was once so scared of driving. 😂
But here’s the thing:
I didn’t become confident before I started driving.
I started driving, practised, made mistakes, learnt from them and confidence came with time.
And honestly, this experience taught me something I’ll never forget.
Sometimes, you are not the problem.
Sometimes, you just haven’t found the right person to teach you.
The right person can encourage you when you’re doubting yourself.
The right person can correct you without making you feel stupid.
The right person can help you see possibilities in yourself that you couldn’t see yet.
And this is exactly how I see many people who are struggling with showing up online.
You have something to say.
You have a business.
You have knowledge.
You have a story.
But you’re hiding because you’re thinking:
“I’m not confident enough.”
“My content isn’t perfect.”
“What will people say?”
“I don’t know how to put myself out there.”
My dear, you may be waiting for something that only comes AFTER you start.
Confidence is built.
Visibility is built.
Your personal brand is built.
Your ability to communicate is built.
You don’t wake up one morning and suddenly become perfect at it.
You start. You learn. You practise. You improve. You keep showing up.
And one day, you’ll look back and wonder:
“Wait… was I really this scared before?” 😂❤️
So please, stop waiting to become perfect before you start.
Start where you are.
Learn as you go.
And if you need help, find people who will guide you, encourage you and show you a better way.
You don’t have to figure everything out alone. ❤️
