CLARIFICATION OF THE SPIRITUAL INTENT OF GOVERNOR NASIR IDRIS (KAURAN GWAMDU) MASSAGE ON THE DAY ON THE DAYOF ARFAT

It has become necessary to address a misrepresentation of a video clip recorded during the blessed Day of Arafat yesterday, where distinguished figures, including Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, were seen spiritually engaged in takbeer (chanting “Allahu Akbar”), a sacred tradition among Muslims during this holy period. In the same spiritual atmosphere, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu), expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for the privilege of witnessing the Day of Arafat. He made a heartfelt supplication—a deeply personal prayer—asking for continued strength, guidance, and the blessing of a second tenure. This was not a campaign speech but a sincere spiritual request made before the Creator, as is customary among believers on such days of reflection and submission.

Unfortunately, political opponents have chosen to twist this moment of devotion into a false narrative. Let it be clearly stated that the Day of Arafat is a moment for prayer, not politics. Every Muslim, regardless of position, is entitled to present their deepest hopes and aspirations before Allah, including leaders who shoulder the weight of governance with humility and responsibility.
We call on all well-meaning citizens to ignore the deliberate misinterpretation and focus on the genuine intention behind the Governor’s words—an intention rooted in faith, gratitude, and a commitment to the progress of Kebbi State.

Gov. Idris appoints Argungu Monarch, Kebbi Amirul Hajj 2025

Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has approved the appointment of Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama'ila Muhammad Mera, CON, the Amirul Hajj of the state for the 2025 Hajj.

This is in furtherance of the government’s preparations for the Hajj operation, aimed at ensuring smooth and successful exercise for pilgrims both at home and in Saudi Arabia.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to Kebbi State Government,SSG Alhaji Yakubu Bala dated 14th April,2025 and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.

According to the statement, the Governor has also approved the membership of the State Government's delegation for the 2025 Hajj, comprising prominent personalities from various segments of the state.

The members are,
Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Lolo – Member, Kebbi State House of Assembly and Hon. Abdullahi Danjumma – Member, House of Assembly.

Others are Barr. Attahiru Maccido – Chief of Staff, Government House; Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande – Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Basic & Secondary Education;
Hajiya Halima Hassan – Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs & Social Development; Nasiru Jafaru Abdullahi (Kwakwaten Shanga) – District Head of Shanga; Alh. Haruna Ilyasu Bashar – District Head of Raha and Alh. Muktar Musa Wasagu – Chief of Wasagu Chiefdom.

The list comprise of Alh. Isah Haruna Rasheed – District Head of Ambursa; C.P. Bello Isah – Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State; Hon. Mohammed Bello Yakubu– Chairman, SEMA; Danjumma Illo Yauri; Alh. Bashir Isah Mera – Chairman, APC Augie Local Government; Hajiya Ramatu Usman – Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Animal Health and Permanent Secretary Sahabi Boyi who will serve as the Secretary of the Hajj delegation.

The Management of the Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education, under the leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, held a crucial meeting to review the ongoing processes concerning the newly recruited teachers in Kebbi State.

In her address, the Honourable Commissioner extended heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris (KAURAN GWANDU), for his unwavering support in ensuring that the recruitment exercise remains transparent and merit-based. Kebbi Gov't Condoles with People of Jega over Ghastly Accident

A high-powered delegation from the Kebbi State Government, led by Deputy Governor Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, paid a condolence visit to the Palace of Sarkin Kabin Jega, Alhaji Muhammad Arzika Jega, following a devastating accident that claimed the lives of five individuals.

The victims, who were traveling back to Jega after visiting a patient at the Federal Medical Center in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, lost their lives in the tragic incident.

Speaking during the visit, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida announced a donation of N10 million to the families of the deceased, praying for Allah's forgiveness and mercy upon the departed souls. He also prayed for peace and security in the state and the nation at large.

The delegation included top government officials, such as the State Head of Service, Alhaji Malami Muhammad Shekare, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Dutsinmari, Permanent Secretary Cabinet and Political Affairs, Dr. Abubakar Kigo, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Lawali Labbo Argungu.

Responding, Sarkin Kabin Jega, Alhaji Muhammad Arzika Bawa Jega, expressed his gratitude to the state government, under the leadership of Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, for their prompt response to the tragedy.

The deceased individuals were identified as Hassan Abdullahi, Abubakar Abdullahi, Imrana Awalu, Ukasha Idris, and Umar Garba.

The condolence visit demonstrated the state government's commitment to providing support and care to the affected families and community.

Provost lauds Gov. Idris for absorbing 761 Nurses, Midwives into civil service

The Provost, College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin Kebbi, Mohammed Murtala Musa, has commended His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris led administration for absorbing 761 Nurses and Midwives of the institution into the state civil service.

He gave the commendation while interacting with Journalists in Birnin Kebbi on the two years administration of Kauran Gwandu.

The provost recalled that the institution had graduated no fewer than 881 nurses and midwives in less than two years of the present administration, precisely, from May 2023 to date.

He said, of the total number, 761 were indigenes of Kebbi State, who had successfully studied and completed their programmes in the college to become certified nurses and midwives.

Murtala Musa said: "All these 761 nurses and midwives, who are indigenes of Kebbi State are now absorbed into the state civil service by the present Kauran Gwandu led administration.

"This is a demonstration of interest in the development of the school, interest in the progress of the state and indeed interest in the success of the entire health sector."

The provost attributed the success of the college to have graduated such a huge number to the support and cooperation the college was enjoying from the present administration in the state.

He noted that accreditation for Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes in the college had been conducted, saying that the result was being awaited.

Murtala Musa used the medium to appreciate His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for all the necessary support to the college to discharge its mandate of producing basic and middle healthcare needs of the state workforce.

Kebbi Deputy Gov. Attends Funeral Prayer of Late Faruk Ajala, Donates N10m to Family

The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida, attended the funeral prayer of Late Faruk Ajala, a renowned philanthropist and businessman, who passed away on Thursday night.

The funeral prayer, which took place at Sheikh Abbas Muhammad Jega's Jumu'at mosque in Birnin Kebbi, drew hundreds of Muslim faithful from across the country.

Condoling the family at the deceased's residence in Birnin Kebbi, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida announced a donation of N10 million to the family of Late Faruk Ajala on behalf of the Kebbi state government, under the leadership of Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu. This gesture aimed to provide comfort and support to the family during their time of grief.

Senator Tafida, accompanied by Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Muhammad Gobir, offered prayers for the deceased, seeking Allah's forgiveness, mercy, and granting him Jannatul Firdaus. They also prayed for the family's strength and resilience in the face of their loss.

The deceased, Late Faruk Ajala, who left behind a legacy of kindness and generosity, was buried according to Islamic rites.
