                                            It's the Sabbath day!
Are you ready to obey the commandment of keeping the Sabbath day holy?
To obey the Sabbath day and keep it holy means more than just resting, it’s about honoring God with our time, heart, and actions. The Sabbath commandment comes from Exodus 20:8–11:
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God...”
Here’s what it really means in practice.
1.Set the Day Apart:
The word holy means set apart.
Keeping the Sabbath holy means recognizing it as different from other days. It’s a day dedicated to God, rest, worship, and reflection, not ordinary work or business.
You can prepare for it by finishing chores or plans ahead, so your mind and heart are free from distractions.
2.Worship and Fellowship with God
Spend quality time in God’s presence: Pray, read the Word, attend fellowship or church, sing, meditate, and refresh your soul.
It’s a time to draw close to the Creator who rested after creating the world.
 Isaiah 58:13–14 says:
“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight... then you shall delight yourself in the Lord.”
3.Rest from Labor
The Sabbath reminds us we are not slaves to work. Resting is an act of trust that God will provide even when we pause.
It’s not just physical rest, but emotional and spiritual rest, letting go of anxiety and busyness.
4.Do Good and Show Mercy
Jesus said,
“It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” (Matthew 12:12)
He healed, helped, and showed compassion.
So, obeying the Sabbath doesn’t mean strict idleness,it means avoiding self-centered activities and focusing on acts of love, kindness, and mercy.
5.Reflect and Realign
Use the day to reflect on your week, thank God, and refocus your priorities.
Ask: “Am I walking in God’s will? Is my heart resting in Him?”
It’s a time to renew your spirit and strengthen your faith.
My beloved,as you have find time to read to the end...I pray that the lord will give you the grace to obey Him at all times and may His blessings never pass the by.
