: Isaac Fayose Counters Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo Remarks on Second Term Ambitions

Popular political commentator, Isaac Fayose, has strongly disagreed with Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, over recent comments suggesting that any politician who opts out of seeking a second term requires a "brain check."

Responding to Soludo’s statement, Fayose referenced global icon Nelson Mandela, noting that the former South African president chose to serve only one term despite public calls for him to continue in office.

“There was a man, Nelson Mandela. He did just one term. The second term they said, ‘Leader, come and lead us,’ and he said, ‘No, I am weak, but my spirit is with you. Let someone else lead.’ It’s not everyone that wants to lead for eight years. Eight years of no future,” Fayose remarked.

The disagreement has sparked further debate on leadership tenure and political ambition in Nigeria.

: Nigerian Soldier Arrested at Maiduguri Bus Terminal with 350 Rounds of Ammunition Concealed in Sack-Delta First Media

— A Nigerian Army personnel on leave has been arrested at a major bus terminal in Maiduguri after being found in possession of 350 rounds of live ammunition concealed in a sack.

According to security sources, the arrest was made during a routine security check conducted by operatives stationed at the terminal. The suspect, whose identity has not been officially disclosed, was said to be traveling when the suspicious load was discovered.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the soldier could not provide satisfactory explanations for the ammunition, prompting his immediate arrest and transfer to military authorities for further interrogation.

Authorities have yet to determine whether the ammunition was intended for personal use, sale, or delivery to unauthorized groups. The Nigerian Army has launched a full-scale investigation into the incident and has vowed to uphold internal discipline and national security.

The arrest underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies to curtail the unauthorized movement of weapons and ensure that military resources do not fall into the wrong hands.

: POS Agent Released After Two Years in Detention Over Ransom Withdrawals by Kidnappers

A Point of Sale (POS) operator has regained her freedom after spending two years in prison custody, following allegations that her terminal was used by kidnappers to withdraw ransom payments.

According to reports, the agent was arrested after unknown kidnappers utilized her POS device to withdraw funds paid by the victim’s relatives. Despite having no direct involvement in the crime, she was held in custody while investigations were ongoing.

Legal and human rights advocates have since raised concerns about the delay in her release, emphasizing the need for better investigative procedures and protections for individuals inadvertently caught in criminal activities.

Her release comes after authorities determined that she had no prior knowledge of or connection to the kidnapping incident.

: Abroad-based Nigerian woman lures her husband’s mistress with his phone, snatches her wig during heated confrontation

The confrontation occurred after the wife, who resides abroad with her husband, grew suspicious of his activities during her periodic trips back to Nigeria. After going through his phone and finding incriminating messages, she decided to take action by setting a trap for the alleged mistress.

The wife revealed during the face-off that she had been the one chatting with the alleged mistress through her husband’s phone. Pretending to be her husband, she arranged a meeting with the woman at a location.

The alleged mistress, unaware she was walking into a setup, arrived at the location expecting to meet her lover, only to find the raging wife.

Tensions escalated as the wife accused the woman of repeatedly sleeping with her husband every time she traveled back to Nigeria.

The situation spiraled when the wife grabbed the woman’s wig and ripped it off her head, exposing her natural hair underneath. In a moment of shame, the alleged mistress fled the scene for her safety.
