🎙️ SERMON TITLE: HOW TO ATTRACT GOD’S HELP
📖 Main Text: Genesis 18:1–10 (KJV)
🎙️ INTRODUCTION
Praise the Lord!
Beloved, one of the greatest needs of every human life is divine help. There are situations where your strength fails, where connections cannot reach, where money becomes powerless—but when God steps in, everything changes instantly.
The truth is this: God’s help is real, but it is not random. There are ways people position themselves that cause heaven to respond.
In our main text, Abraham did not plan a miracle that day—but by his actions, he attracted divine visitation. What looked like ordinary visitors turned out to be a divine encounter that changed his story forever.
If you pay attention today, you will learn how to position your life so that God’s help locates you—even when you are not actively searching for it.
đź“– 1. BE SENSITIVE TO DIVINE OPPORTUNITIES
In Genesis 18:2, Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw three men standing nearby. Many people would have ignored them. But Abraham discerned something unusual.
Divine help often comes disguised as ordinary situations.
Moses saw a burning bush (Exodus 3:2)
The widow saw a prophet (1 Kings 17:10–16)
The disciples saw a stranger on the road (Luke 24:13–31)
Others see coincidence—but spiritually sensitive people see opportunity.
If you are careless, you may ignore the very moment God is arranging your breakthrough.
Lesson:
Stay spiritually alert. God’s help may not come the way you expect.
đź“– 2. HUMILITY ATTRACTS DIVINE HELP
In Genesis 18:3, Abraham said, “My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight…”
This was a wealthy man, yet he humbled himself before strangers.
Pride repels God, but humility draws Him closer.
The Bible says:
“God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” (James 4:6)
“Humble yourselves… that he may exalt you in due time.” (1 Peter 5:6)
Many people pray for help but carry an attitude that blocks it.
Lesson:
If you want God’s help, remove pride from your heart. God does not assist arrogance.
đź“– 3. SHOW GENEROSITY WITHOUT CALCULATION
Abraham did not just greet them—he ran to serve them.
He brought water (Genesis 18:4)
He prepared food (Genesis 18:6–8)
He gave his best
He didn’t ask, “What will I gain?”
This is powerful:
God’s help is attracted to people who help others freely.
Jesus said:
“Give, and it shall be given unto you…” (Luke 6:38)
The widow of Zarephath gave her last meal and triggered divine supply (1 Kings 17:13–16).
Lesson:
When you become a blessing, you position yourself for divine intervention.
đź“– 4. ACT WITH URGENCY IN DOING GOOD
The Bible says Abraham ran to meet them (Genesis 18:2).
He didn’t delay. He didn’t procrastinate.
Some people miss divine help because they delay obedience.
Delayed kindness can become denied opportunity
Delayed obedience can become lost blessing
Galatians 6:9 says:
“Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap…”
Lesson:
When God prompts you to do good, act quickly. Timing matters in the realm of the Spirit.
đź“– 5. CREATE ROOM FOR GOD IN YOUR LIFE
Abraham invited them to rest under the tree.
This is symbolic:
He created space for God.
Many people want God’s help, but their lives are too crowded:
No time for prayer
No room for God’s Word
No spiritual focus
Revelation 3:20 says:
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock…”
God does not force His way in—you must make room.
Lesson:
If you want divine help, give God access to your life.
đź“– 6. HONOR GOD WITH YOUR BEST, NOT YOUR LEFTOVERS
Abraham prepared a calf, tender and good (Genesis 18:7).
He didn’t give what was convenient—he gave what was valuable.
Many people want great blessings but give God casual service.
Malachi 1:8 rebukes offering God what costs nothing.
David said:
“I will not offer… that which doth cost me nothing.” (2 Samuel 24:24)
Lesson:
Your level of honor determines the level of help you attract.
đź“– 7. DIVINE HELP BRINGS SUPERNATURAL RESULTS
After Abraham served them, something happened.
In Genesis 18:10, God said:
“I will certainly return unto thee… and Sarah thy wife shall have a son.”
This was beyond human ability. Sarah was old. The situation was impossible.
But when God helps you:
Barrenness becomes fruitfulness
Delay becomes fulfillment
Impossibility becomes testimony
Psalm 121:2 says:
“My help cometh from the Lord…”
Lesson:
God’s help produces results that human effort cannot explain.
📖 8. FAITH KEEPS YOU CONNECTED TO GOD’S HELP
Even when Sarah doubted (Genesis 18:12), God still declared His promise.
Then came the powerful question:
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14)
Faith is what keeps you aligned with divine help.
Hebrews 11:6 says:
“Without faith it is impossible to please him…”
Lesson:
Believe God even when your situation says otherwise.
🎯 PRACTICAL SUMMARY: HOW TO ATTRACT GOD’S HELP
Be spiritually sensitive
Walk in humility
Be generous
Act quickly in doing good
Make room for God
Honor God with your best
Expect supernatural results
Maintain strong faith.

🔥 CONCLUSION
Beloved, God’s help is not reserved for a special few—it is available to anyone who positions themselves rightly.
Abraham did not beg for a miracle.
He lived in a way that invited God into his situation.
You can do the same.
When your life aligns with these principles, help will come:
Unexpectedly
Powerfully
Irreversibly

Lift your voice and pray:
“Lord, position my life for Your help.
Remove every attitude that blocks Your visitation.
Give me a heart of humility, generosity, and faith.
Let Your help locate me and change my story.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
🎙️ Final Word:
Your season of struggling alone is ending.
As you apply these truths, God’s help will find you—right where you are.

Sermon: Finding God in Your Storm

Main Text: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1 (KJV)
I. THE UNINVITED GUEST: UNDERSTANDING CRISIS.

Praise the Lord, saints of God!
We serve a God who is not intimidated by the dark or moved by the wind. Today, we are standing on the front lines of a reality that touches every human life: the crisis.
A crisis is an uninvited guest. It doesn’t knock; it crashes through the door. It doesn’t ask for permission; it demands your peace. Whether it is a financial drought, a diagnosis that shakes your world, or a family storm that keeps you awake at night, crisis has a way of stripping us down to our foundation.
But I came to tell someone today: Your crisis is a chapter, not the conclusion. It is a location, not your destination. Men and women of great faith—Job, David, the disciples—all sat where you are sitting. They felt the sting of loss and the spray of the storm, but they discovered a truth we must hold onto today: The storm may be loud, but God is louder.

II. THE ANATOMY OF A STORM: WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
To survive the storm, you must understand its origin. Not every crisis is a sign of God’s displeasure; in fact, the source often dictates the strategy.
The Reality of a Fallen World: Sometimes, life happens. Jesus promised us in John 16:33 that in this world, tribulation is a guarantee.
The Consequence of Choice: Like Jonah, we sometimes find ourselves in a belly of a whale because we ran from the voice of God.
The Attack of the Enemy: There are spiritual battles where the enemy tries to abort your destiny through pressure.
The Divine Classroom: Like Joseph in the prison or the gold in the furnace, God often allows the "heat" of a crisis to burn away the dross so that His image can shine through you.
Crucial Truth: Every crisis has a purpose, but not every crisis is from God. However, regardless of the source, God can use it for your good.

III. THE TRAP OF THE WRONG RESPONSE
Crisis doesn't usually destroy people; it is the wrong response that causes the wreckage. When pressure rises, the flesh wants to panic, isolate, or quit. Many people run away from the Altar when they should be running toward it. They make permanent decisions based on temporary pain.
But you are not "many people." You are a child of the Most High.

IV. THE BLUEPRINT FOR VICTORY
How do we navigate the storm without sinking? Scripture gives us the roadmap:

1. Run to the Rock
When the heart is overwhelmed, don't look for an exit—look for the Rock. Psalm 61:2 reminds us that there is a height higher than our problems. Do not let your prayer life go silent. If you can’t shout, whisper. If you can’t whisper, groan. Just stay in the presence of the One who holds the oceans in His palm.

2. Anchor in Sovereignty
In Mark 4, Jesus was asleep during a gale. Why? Because He knew the end from the beginning. If God isn't panicked, you don't need to be either. Your calmness is your greatest weapon; it is a prophetic statement that says, "My God is bigger than this waves."

3. Seek Divine Strategy
In 2 Chronicles 20, Jehoshaphat didn't just fight; he fasted. He didn't just plan; he praised. Stop trying to solve spiritual problems with only human logic. Ask God for the "Rhema" word—the specific instruction—for your specific storm.

4. Build Spiritual Endurance
God is not just interested in getting you out of the crisis; He is interested in what the crisis is putting into you. James 1:2-3 tells us that the "trying of your faith" produces something called patience—which is spiritual muscle. You are being strengthened for the next level.

V. THE PROPHETIC DECLARATION
I want to speak to the "Lazarus situations" and the "Red Sea moments" represented here today.
Hear the Word of the Lord: * This storm will not swallow you.
This fire will not consume you.
This crisis has an expiry date, and that date is approaching!
Jeremiah 32:27 asks, "Is there anything too hard for me?" Your bank account says "Yes," your body says "Yes," but the Heavens say "NO."

CONCLUSION: THE REFUGE
The storm is a platform for a miracle. Without the giant, David is just a shepherd boy. Without the furnace, the Hebrew boys never meet the Fourth Man.
Don't waste your pain. Hold on to the Word. God is not a distant observer; He is a "very present help." He is in the boat with you, He is in the fire with you, and He is leading you to the other side.
Your testimony is loading. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord! Amen.
