This is Oxlade and Guchi

They had some of the most viral songs of 2023 /2024 but as we speak no platform has spoken about them in 3 months . If they were foreign artistes , some people will immediately say Nigeria is not welcoming.

The thing is competition in the Nigerian music industry is CRAZY . You must come in READY to work , stay consistent and promote your songs . You might have the best and most viral song right now but in a week a different person replaces you in a week .

You can’t go to an industry like Nigeria , do one or two songs in two years and expect to be a BIG NAME , it will never work . You will end up losing the money .

Imagine people thinking the audience snubbed Sarkodie cus he is not Nigerian , NO . You can’t do songs two years ago and still be a BIG NAME in Nigeria it’s a LIE . The market is so COMPETITIVE

When last did you see Oxlade on a show ? when last did you see Guchi on a show ? “ Kulosa “ was global but in months so many songs replaced it . Guchi trended with a couple of songs but where is she ?

At the end you need a major label with all the finances and connections to back you up . It’s not easy .

In Nigeria you either go hard or GO HOME . It’s not a game of emotions . Go to Nigeria and see the number of struggling artistes in a single state you’ll appreciate them for every love the show others .
