Sometimes I'll just feel like dedicating the whole day to think about the type of w**d some acoustic Engineers must be taking because why not. What is it in the name of design? could it be that someone cannot comfortably do a simple maitainance without spending half a day on one box.

See I understand that you guys are trying to achieve something maybe throw, punch, depth or wider angle of dispersion but what is it in the name of design that we can't do a simple maintenance without almost sleeping on one box?

I don't think any sensible person will spend an arm and leg to buy something that has only one time value and maintenance seem like ages. What if by chance it happened during rush hours, are we going to pulse the event for half a day?

You never can tell what you've got until you meet a lead vocalist with a very tiny voice.

Lately I'm seeing sound guys on this blue app begging us to get a DI box.

Well to me I don't think there's any need for that since we're all comfortable with direct connections. Not until you start recording damages in their numbers. The dealer and repair guys have family to feed and God must use someone. Possibly you.

My major concern is those using active DI box that needs battery and phantom power to work. Like how do you guys do it.

I'm not saying that active DI box is bad totally. Far from it but that guy has the mind of his own. Can we address it as a "she" because it seems like she is having a lot of mood swings 🤐

Active DI box is one of the gears that will keep you on your toes from line check till the show is over.

When you're done rigging and see no reason for sound check prior to main event, your Active DI box 👇

What's wrong with your wedge and all the monitors on the stage.

I'm not sure you know the distance between the stage and FOH of some venues talk more of sound layers from your monitors to the FOH.

If we must clip your voice that hard for you to hear yourself on the FOH from the stage, I bet you will not like the outcome of the production of it was recorded.

You must not overdrive to fry your PA systems. As a sound person the only person that understands your Public Addressing systems better should be you. Ranging from working wattage to mode of operations.

Sometimes, some disasters we encounter during live shows are not any attack from anywhere. It is as a result of us not making proper calculations on which of the processors to drive a particular PA and at what level is safe for it.

One thing about the amplifier system is that it increases the signals coming from the processors before sending it to the PA and if proper calculations are not done on its capacity and what should be expected, the end result might not be safe for the drivers.
