UPDATE ON ODOGWU ASABA CASE (PART 3)

J. A. EMIOMA ESQ for the Complainant, Ugochukwu Okoli, Esq for the Defendant.

Counsel from the DPP's office informed the court that the information has been filed and served on the defendant's lawyer. Same was confirmed.
Consequently, the remand proceeding was struck out from the vacation court cause list.

The information filed by the DPP is pending before the Chief Judge of Delta State awaiting assignment to Court.

We will keep you updated as soon as the case file is assigned to a Judge

*UPDATE ON ODOGWU ASABA CASE.* (Part 2)

*Appearances* :
E.J AKPIMEYIM, ESQ (Deputy Director) appeared for the Complainant, while UGOCHUKWU OKOLI, ESQ appeared for the Defendant (Ifeanyi Ogbonna).

The Defendant was not produced in Court, since he is still being remanded in prison custody.

Counsel from the DPP's office informed the Court that a Legal Opinion has been filed and from the Opinion of the DPP, the Defendant has a case to answer.

From the Opinion filed by the office of the DPP, the Defendant is likely to face a 2 count charge of R**e and Manslaughter.

The Counsel representing the DPP informed the Court that a formal Information (Charge Sheet) will be filed on Tuesday, 22nd September, 2026.

The case was on this note adjourned to 25th September, 2026.

*UPDATE ON IFEANYI OGBONNA CASE* *(ODOGWU ASABA).* (Part 1)

The Case came up today, the *15th of September, 2026* for Hearing of the Bail Application Filed by the Applicant's Counsel.

*Appearances* :
Ugochukwu Okoli Esq, N.N. Onuzurike, Esq and C.S. Chukwudolue, Esq appeared for the Applicant (*Ifeanyi Ogbonna)* while
Dr. R. O. Ishiguzo, a Law Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, State CID, Asaba, appeared for The Respondent *(Commissioner of Police/Complainant)*

After hearing the Bail Application, the Court in refusing same, was of the view that considering the safety of the Applicant and possible public outcry, it would be wise to deny the Applicant bail at this stage, since Information is yet to be filed by the DPP.

The court further directed the DPP to file Information within 14 days.

The Defendant is however at liberty to apply for bail after the Information is filed.

We will keep you updated as the case progresses.

But believe me it will make you instead, people only trow stone on trees that bears fruit, that is a sighn of greatness
If you were a nobody the people involved in this case may never be interested
Just take what is happening to you now as a lesson and a price for greatness, you know me your wife to never accept defeat and I adapt well to situations. Wherever you find yourself stretch your legs like a king that you are, they call what is happening to you now suffering and pain but I call it sacrifice.
We are going to fight this together and at the end your name will be heard by the world..
