Was John really more loved by Jesus than the other disciples?

Absolutely not.

Jesus loved His disciples. In fact, John 13:1 says He loved His own who were in the world “unto the end.”

So why did John repeatedly identify himself as “the disciple whom Jesus loved”?

Here’s the part that really got me:

John seemed deeply conscious of Jesus’ love for him. ❤️

He didn't introduce himself by his achievements.
He didn't emphasize his position as an apostle.
He didn't say, “I am John, the son of Zebedee.”

He repeatedly pointed to one thing:

“I am the one Jesus loves.”

And perhaps that is the lesson for us.

It isn't always about whether God loves us more than someone else.

It's about whether we are conscious that He loves us at all.

God is not partial. He doesn't love one of His children and hate another. But some people live with a deeper awareness of His love—and that awareness changes how they see themselves.

John knew:

“I AM LOVED.”

And that became part of his identity.

Maybe we should stop introducing ourselves by everything we have achieved and start remembering who we are because of whose love has claimed us. ❤️

You are not merely your name.
You are not your qualifications.
You are not your failures.
You are not people's opinions of you.

If you belong to Christ, you are deeply loved by God.

And honestly…

Isn't that the most beautiful identity of all? 🥹❤️

WAIT… I’M BLUSHING! 😭❤️

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” — 1 John 3:1

Do you understand what that means?

CHILDREN. OF. GOD. 😭❤️

Not because of my qualifications.
Not because of my achievements.
Not because I have everything figured out.

I am His child because He chose to call me His.

Honestly, every time I remember who I am in Christ, I just want to blush. 🥹❤️

What a privilege.
What a love.
What an identity.

I AM A CHILD OF GOD. 👑❤️

And that alone is enough to make me smile today. 😊
