Every afternoon, an old shoemaker sat outside his tiny shop repairing worn-out sandals and dusty school shoes. People passed him every day without noticing him much.
One hot afternoon, a young boy stopped and asked, “Baba, why do you still smile every day even though business looks slow?”
The old man smiled gently and said, “Because years ago, when I had nothing, someone repaired my life the same way I repair these shoes.”
The boy looked confused.
The shoemaker continued, “I once lost my job, my home, and almost my hope. But one stranger bought me food and said, ‘This season is not your final chapter.’ I never forgot those words.”
He held up a broken sandal and said, “See this? To some people, it’s useless. But with patience and care, it can walk again.”
The boy left thinking deeply.
Sometimes life makes us feel broken, delayed, or forgotten. But broken things are not always finished things. Some seasons are only preparing us for a stronger comeback.
