63rd day Security Fundraiser Update
It’s been 63 days since we began a passive fundraising effort to procure a crucial item that would empower our local security personnel (Hunters and Vigilante) to better monitor and secure the bushes and high-risk areas in and around Auchi.
In just over two months, we have raised a total of ₦2,350,500, slightly short of our ₦3 million target. Notably, 70 individuals contributed to this initiative, with two donors accounting for ₦1.5 million of the total sum. This statistic is both humbling and revealing.
It highlights a deeper concern: while many of us are quick to lament the increasing rate of crime especially kidnappings in Edo North, very few are taking actionable steps to be part of the solution. We seem more invested in talking about the problems than solving them.
That said, I want to sincerely thank every donor, from those who gave as little as ₦100 to the one who gave ₦1 million. Your sacrifice and support are not just appreciated, they are vital. You chose to act, not just talk.
Let this also serve as a reminder that we cannot continue to rely solely on a failing system. When communities rise to solve their own challenges, progress becomes possible. It's time we move from complaints to contributions.
Noteworthy, due to the urgency of this security initiative, I had to shelve my annual Back-to-School programme for in truth, only those who are safe can go to school.
So, I want to make it know that by the second week of this month, I plan to conclude this project and redirect attention to other pressing needs. The next step is to see how best we can utilize the funds raised to get the most effective solution for our security teams. I remain hopeful we can still raise more, and I'm committed to doing the little I can to re-energize our local heroes, who daily risk their lives for our safety.

Thank you all. Let’s keep pushing.
God bless our hunters, our Vigilante, people and friends of Auchi, Edo North and Nigeria.
