DAY 5 β CHILD PROTECTION AWARENESS
Child protection starts with awareness.
A child who is being abused may be afraid to speak, may not understand that what is happening is wrong, or may depend on the person causing the harm. This is why adults must pay attention and take reports seriously.
If you are in KWARA STATE and need to report a human-rights violation, you can contact the National Human Rights Commission:
NHRC KWARA STATE OFFICE
No. 3 Old Jebba Road, Ilorin, Kwara State
Phone: 07068468408
NHRC TOLL-FREE COMPLAINT LINE
08006472428
You can report concerns involving abuse, violence, neglect, exploitation and other violations of human rights. The NHRC states that complaints can be made through its offices, and its services for victims of human-rights violations are free.
Do not ignore a child who may be in danger. If you know something is wrong, seek help and report through the appropriate authority.
This is what Charity for Every Child stands for: creating awareness, sharing useful information and helping people know where to turn when a child's rights are being violated.
Protect a child. Speak up. Report abuse.
