Tuesday Morning
As I rise this Tuesday Morning, Lord, I accept your word which says,
“Let us know, let us press on to know the Lord; his going forth is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.” (Hosea 6:3)
Based on this promise, I humbly turn to you:
Dear Father,
I thank you for the breath of this new morning and for the quiet invitation to begin again in your presence. Yesterday has passed, and today opens before me as another opportunity to grow in faith, charity, and obedience. Draw me closer to you, for the more I know you, the more I discover the purpose for which you created me.
Wash away every trace of spiritual complacency within me. Renew my heart where it has become weary, soften it where it has become hardened, and strengthen it where it has become weak. Let your mercy reach the hidden places of my life that still need healing and conversion. Grant me wisdom to recognize the good, courage to choose it, and humility to admit my faults without fear.
Guide every conversation I will have today. Bless the work of my hands, the thoughts of my mind, and the intentions of my heart. Let me become an instrument of reconciliation wherever there is misunderstanding, and of hope wherever discouragement has taken root. May I never become too busy to notice those who need kindness or too distracted to hear your gentle voice calling me closer.
Loving Father, as I begin this day, I place before you the personal intentions that remain in my heart. (Take a moment to mention them to the Lord.) Receive them according to your mercy and, if it be your will, grant me the grace I seek.
May this be my portion and your glory today, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Kindly give this prayer to others. It is in giving that we receive.
