ORASHIN NATIONAL CONGRESS MOURNS THE PASSING OF THE PASSING OF PRINCE UGOCHUKWU EBELOGU FRANKLIN :

The Orashi National Congress (ONC), the foremost socio-cultural organization representing the interests and unity of the Orashi ethnic nationalities in Rivers State, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Prince Ugochukwu Ebelogu Franklin, describing his death as a great loss to the Orashi region and to all who knew him.

In a solemn statement signed by the President General of the ONC, Amb. Snr. Comr. Emeni Ibe, the organization extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved Ebelogu family, friends, and the entire community of Edeoha where Prince Franklin hailed from.

“We received with great shock and sadness the news of the untimely death of our dear son and brother, Prince Ugochukwu Ebelogu Franklin. His departure is a painful loss, not just to his immediate family, but to the entire Orashi Nation, where he was widely known for his humility, wisdom, and quiet but impactful contributions to community growth,” the statement read.

Prince Franklin was known for his deep commitment to peace, youth development, and community service within Ahoada East Local Government Area and beyond. He was a vibrant, thoughtful personality whose presence inspired many young people to pursue positive values and civic responsibility.

The ONC noted that Prince Franklin’s legacy of compassion, leadership, and unity will forever remain a beacon for the Orashi people and called on the younger generation to emulate his sense of responsibility and dedication to community service.

“We stand in solidarity with the Ebelogu family at this moment of grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. May the Almighty grant them the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may the soul of our dearly departed Prince find rest in the bosom of the Lord.”

I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED TRUE LOVE SAYS -TIWA SAVAGE:

Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that she is yet to experience true love at 44.

The songstress explained that apart from her son, Jamil, she hasn’t experienced true love from anyone.

She emphasised that when she looks back at her past romantic relationships, she realises that they were infatuation and not true love.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son. Because every time I look back at all my relationships, I’m like, nah, that wasn’t love. I was just infatuated. At that time I thought I was in love. I don’t think I experienced true love even when I was married,” the singer said in an interview with Zeze Mills.

Savage said she has now come to the conclusion that maybe love isn’t for her because she has tried over and over to find true love to no avail.

“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she added.

BREAKING: Sowore Attacked in police custody , right hand broken.

Former Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore has reportedly been attacked in Police Custody.

POLITICS NIGERIA earlier reported on Wednesday that Sowore was invited for questioning by the Police and Subsequently detained in Abuja following a Petition from the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

However, a post on Sowore’s Social Media Pages claimed that Police Officers stormed the Journalist’s detention cell as early as 6 a.m on Thursday morning, broke his right hand and whisked him away to an unknown location.

The Police officers were led by a CSP from the IGP’s monitoring unit.

TINUBU RUNNING NIGERIA LIKE PRIVATE WHATSAPP GROUP SAYS EX BUHARI'S AIDE LAURETTA ONOCHIE:

former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu over his failure to appoint new ambassadors nearly a year after recalling all of Nigeria’s envoys.
Onochie, in a post on her verified 𝕏 handle on Wednesday, likened Tinubu’s leadership style to running a “private WhatsApp group” and accused him of abandoning key diplomatic responsibilities.

Naija News recalls that President Tinubu had in September 2023 ordered the withdrawal of all Nigerian ambassadors across foreign missions.

But nearly 11 months later, no new appointments have been made, leaving over 100 embassies and high commissions without substantive leadership.

Diplomatic observers say the prolonged vacuum has weakened Nigeria’s foreign relations and stifled bilateral engagements.

Ambassadors serve as the country’s chief representatives abroad and are instrumental in promoting trade, investment, and diplomatic ties.

‘Tinubu Prefers Places Where He Can Be Idolised’ – Onochie
Expressing her frustration, Onochie, who shared a video clip on her page, questioned the president’s strategic competence, saying his approach to governance lacked global engagement.

“A strategist who doesn’t know that Nigeria needs ambassadors to relate with the rest of the world is running Nigeria like a private WhatsApp group,” she wrote.

She further claimed, “He prefers to relate to St. Lucia and Kazakhstan, where he can be idolised and worshipped for the right price.”

Naija News reports that Onochie’s comments add to growing criticism of the President’s handling of foreign affairs, with many stakeholders calling for urgent diplomatic appointments to restore Nigeria’s global presence.

GOVERNOR ADELEKE TRAVELS TO US FOR DAVIDO'S WEDDING:

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has travelled to the United States to attend the wedding ceremony of his nephew and music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

Recall, Davido confirmed that he and his wife, Chioma Avril Rowland, will have their white wedding in Miami, Florida, in August 2025.

He made the announcement during an interview on The Breakfast Club, aired on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.

The governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, confirmed Adeleke’s trip in a statement issued on Tuesday, in response to concerns raised by the opposition All Progressives Congress over the governor’s whereabouts.

“Governor Adeleke left Nigeria for the United States via the family’s private jet a few days ago for the wedding of the global music icon, his beloved nephew, David Adeleke.

“His Excellency is extending an invitation to the opposition party to attend the event and share in the joy of the occasion with the Adeleke family.

“Those unable to attend may join virtually,” Rasheed stated.

He noted that Adeleke had not taken any official vacation since assuming office in November 2022 and said the current trip would be short.

“Additionally, from the November 2022 date, the governor has not gone on official vacation.

“For this current trip, the Governor has again chosen to make it a short one to continually attend to crucial state functions.

“Meanwhile, the Governor is in constant communication with his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, who is supervising activities of the government,” Rasheed added.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Osun APC had accused Adeleke of leaving the state without informing residents or formally transmitting power to his deputy. The party described the governor’s absence as “abnormal.”
