*Dr. Ekene Ogugua Commends Aguata Mayor for Promoting Digital Education with New E-Library*
The Honourable Commissioner for Education in Anambra State, Dr. Ekene Longinus Ogugua, today joined the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Hon.
Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, the Traditional Ruler of Igbo-Ukwu, HRH Alexander Ejikemeuwa Azike, alongside students, stakeholders, and community members, to commission a newly built e-library in Igbo-Ukwu, Aguata LGA.
The e-library project, facilitated by Mayor Ofobuike, is designed to promote digital learning, improve access to educational resources, and provide a modern learning environment for students and young people within the community.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Ogugua praised the Mayor for his commitment to educational development and for aligning with the Smart School agenda of the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
According to the Commissioner, the initiative reflects the state government’s vision of leveraging technology to improve the quality of education and equip students with relevant digital skills for the future. He further emphasized that investments in educational infrastructure remain essential for building a more enlightened, productive, and technologically driven society.
Dr. Ogugua also encouraged students and residents of the community to make proper use of the facility, noting that it would serve as an important center for learning, research, and academic development.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Ofobuike stated that the establishment of the e-library became necessary to provide students with a conducive environment for studying, conducting research, and preparing for examinations such as JAMB and other academic pursuits.
The event attracted government officials, traditional leaders, students, and members of the community, who described the initiative as a significant step toward advancing education and youth development in Aguata Local Government Area.
