ỌKWA: PRESERVING THE SACRED TRADITION OF ILO MMỤỌ
‎
‎In Omor and the Ayamelum clan, Ọkwa is more than just a wooden plate. It is a sacred part of our traditional way of life.
‎
‎Ọkwa is specially used for Ilo Mmụọ, the traditional practice of offering food to the deities during festivals and sacrifices. It carries a cultural meaning that goes beyond its physical appearance.
‎
‎As civilization continues to change many things around us, some traditions remain sacred and should be preserved with respect. Ilo Mmụọ is one of them. It is traditionally done with Ọkwa, not with modern plates or other household utensils.
‎
‎Our culture teaches us where we come from and helps younger generations understand the values and beliefs of our ancestors.
‎
‎Preserving Ọkwa and the tradition of Ilo Mmụọ is therefore not about rejecting civilization. It is about protecting our identity and keeping our heritage alive.
‎
‎What is worth preserving should never be forgotten.

MAY THIS SUNDAY BRING PEACE, HOPE AND GOOD NEWS 🙏
‎
‎Happy Sunday from Omor Igulube TV
‎
‎As we step into a new week, may we remember that every new day is another opportunity to start again, do better, and appreciate the gift of life.
‎
‎May God bless our homes, protect our families, strengthen our community, and guide everyone travelling to their destinations. May those searching for opportunities find favour, those facing difficulties receive help, and those carrying heavy burdens find peace.
‎
‎Let us also use today to check on someone, encourage a friend, support a neighbour, and spread kindness. A simple act of love can brighten someone’s entire day.
‎
‎From all of us at Omor Igulube TV, we wish you and your loved ones a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Sunday.
‎
‎May the new week bring good news to us all. 🙏

10 POWERFUL ONE-WORD SUBSTITUTIONS EVERY SMART WRITER SHOULD KNOW
‎
‎Words can make communication shorter, clearer, and more powerful. Instead of using long descriptions, a single well-chosen word can express the same idea beautifully.
‎
‎For example, a person who writes or compiles dictionaries is a lexicographer, while someone skilled in beautiful handwriting is a calligrapher. An etymologist studies the origin and history of words, while a cartographer makes maps. A bibliographer compiles bibliographies, and a cryptographer creates or deciphers codes.
‎
‎We also have rhetorician, a person skilled in persuasive speaking or writing; redactor, someone who edits or revises written texts; scribe, someone who copies documents by hand; and ghostwriter, a person who writes for another without receiving public credit.
‎
‎Learning these words does more than improve vocabulary. It helps us communicate with greater confidence, precision, and intelligence. Keep learning, keep reading, and keep adding new words to your vocabulary.

The People Who Stay When You Have Nothing
‎
‎Life has a way of showing us who truly cares.
‎
‎When you have money, success, influence, or something to offer, many people may want to be around you. But when things become difficult and you have nothing to give, the people who still stand beside you are often the ones who genuinely value you, not what you have.
‎
‎Never take such people for granted.
‎
‎A true friend does not only celebrate your good days. They encourage you during your struggles, listen when you are hurting, and remind you of your worth when life makes you doubt yourself.
‎
‎Success may attract many people, but difficult times reveal the genuine ones.
‎
‎So, appreciate those who stayed when you had nothing. They may be among the greatest blessings life has given you.
