I came across this post today, and whether you believe this particular story is true or not, one thing is certain…

There are children who have lived through experiences like this.

Reading it took me back to a part of my own childhood that I rarely talk about.

When I was in primary school, I lived with a relative in Lagos.

During that period, I experienced some of the worst treatment of my life. While my aunt made life incredibly difficult for me, her younger brother in that same home repeatedly crossed boundaries that no child should ever have to endure. Yes, I have survived worst.

I never found the courage to speak up.

Not because I didn’t want to…

But because I never truly felt safe enough to.

Looking back now, I realize something that breaks my heart…

So many children are failed, not just by the people who hurt them, but by the adults who never created a safe space for them to speak.

And there’s another part of this conversation we need to talk about.

The adults who are supposed to notice.

When I read this story, I couldn’t help but wonder about the wife.

I’m not saying she knew what was happening, because we simply don’t know.

But it reminded me of how important it is for parents and caregivers to be observant.

Children often communicate through their behaviour before they ever find the words to speak.

A child who suddenly becomes withdrawn, fearful, unusually quiet, avoids a particular person, or behaves differently may be trying to say something they don’t know how to explain.

As parents, we have to pay attention.

Ask questions.

Notice changes.

Create a home where our children know they can tell us anything without fear of being blamed, dismissed, or silenced.

Even today, as a woman and now a mother, I am still healing from parts of my childhood.

That is why I will never joke with conversations like this.

Dear parents…

Please don’t only provide food, clothes, school fees, and shelter.

Create safety.

Create trust.

Believe your children when they speak.

Protect them even when it’s uncomfortable.

To every parent raising a daughter…

Protect her fiercely. They world out there is so cold

To every parent raising a son…

Teach him respect, empathy, self-control, healthy boundaries, and that no one is ever entitled to another person’s body.

The kind of men we raise today will shape the kind of world our daughters grow up in tomorrow.

May we become the generation that listens sooner, protects better, and never gives children a reason to suffer in silence.

No child deserves to carry wounds that were never theirs to bear. ❤️

A new week is here ☺️

Last week may have come with wins, disappointments, unanswered prayers, lessons, or even moments that made you question yourself.

But today is another reminder that as long as you’re alive, you have another chance.

Another chance to try again.
Another chance to forgive.
Another chance to be consistent.
Another chance to become the person you’ve been praying to be.

As we step into this new week, may we not waste the opportunities it brings.

May our efforts bear fruit.
May doors open where we’ve only seen walls.
May God grant us strength for the days ahead and favor beyond our expectations.

Have a beautiful and blessed new week, family. ❤️

One of the best things I did for my daughter was create a bedtime routine.

Before then, she slept whenever she felt like it. I kept telling myself, “She’s just a child. She’ll eventually adapt.”

Then one day, I asked myself…

How can she adapt to a routine that doesn’t exist?

Children don’t magically adjust to structure. Most of the time, we have to create the structure first.

So I did.

Now, by 9 p.m. (or even before), she’s already sleepy. Sometimes I’m not even ready to put her to bed yet, but her body already knows it’s bedtime. Tucking her in has become so much easier, and both of us sleep better because of it.

It made me realize that consistency really does make a difference.

So let me ask my fellow parents…

Did you create a bedtime schedule for your little ones or do you let them sleep whenever they feel like it?

I’d love to hear what has worked for you.

Take care of yourself.

The truth is, when you can no longer show up, most people will simply move on to the next available option.

Protect your health.
Protect your peace.
Protect your mind.

You are far more replaceable in people’s routines than you are in your own life. ❤️

Happy Sunday, everyone. ❤️

There’s something that has been on my mind this morning, and I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

Have you ever noticed that some people who are extremely religious seem to interpret almost everything as a spiritual attack?

I don’t mean people of faith in general. I mean those who believe that every disappointment, every setback, every bad dream, every delay, or every low season must have been caused by someone somewhere.

A while ago, I witnessed something that made me think.

I went to buy something from a place where three neighbours sold the exact same products. One of them came out that morning praying loudly, declaring the blood of Jesus and praying against witches who, according to her, were responsible for her poor sales.

As I listened, I couldn’t help but wonder…

Who were these “witches” in her mind?

Could it have been the neighbours selling the same products?

But isn’t it also possible that sales were simply low?

Business has seasons. Some days are great, while others are slow. That’s a reality almost every business owner experiences.

It made me wonder why, for some people, there always has to be someone to blame.

Why must every setback have a human enemy behind it?

Why can’t some disappointments simply be part of life?

Ironically, the person you suspect of attacking you might also be somewhere praying because they believe you’re the one attacking them.

I’m not questioning anyone’s faith. I believe in prayer, and I believe there are spiritual realities.

I’m simply asking where we draw the line between genuine spiritual discernment and attributing every challenge to an unseen enemy.

Am I the only one who’s noticed this, or have you observed it too?
