Political observers have described the movement as a “defection tsunami” and say it could reshape Darazo’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.

EID-EL-KABIR: Senator Buba Umar Greets Muslim Ummah, Calls for Peaceful, Violence-Free Politics

By Mohammed Kaka

The Governorship Candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Bauchi State for the 2027 general elections, and Senator representing Bauchi South district, Shehu Buba Umar, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the sand the celebration of Eid-el-kabir 2026.

In a Sallah message signed and issued to newsmen by his Special Adviser Media and Communication on Thursday, Sen. Buba urged residents of Bauchi State to uphold peace, unity, tolerance, and mutual understanding.

According to the PRP governorship candidate, peaceful coexistence is the foundation for development and progress.

The Senator warned against hatred, violence, and divisive politics, stressing that political competition should not destroy relationships and shared human values.

“Politics is temporary, but humanity and peaceful coexistence must remain permanent. We must avoid bitterness and the dangerous practice of do-or-die politics. After politics, there is still life, friendship, and community,” he said.

Sen. Buba also called on parents and guardians to monitor their children during and after the Sallah celebrations to prevent actions that could threaten public peace and security.

He advised motorists, commercial drivers, motorcycle riders, and other road users to exercise patience and caution to reduce accidents during the festive period.

Ahead of the 2027 elections, Buba appealed to political leaders, party supporters, and youths to conduct their activities peacefully and within the law, emphasizing the need for violence-free campaigns.

“Democracy can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace, respect, and lawful political engagement,” he said, adding that Bauchi State needs issue-based politics that will promote development and good governance.

Senator Shehu also congratulated the Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, Kauran Daular Usmaniyya, on the occasion of the joyous Sallah celebration, and prayed that Almighty Allah will continue to guide and strengthen him in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Senator Shehu congratulates the existing Emirs, newly appointed Emirs, newly appointed District Heads, and the serving District Heads on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-kabir celebration. He prayed for Allah’s blessings, peace, good health, and continued wisdom upon them all.

The senator concluded by asking residents of Bauchi State and Nigerians to continue praying for lasting peace, unity, stability, and economic prosperity.

“May this Eid-el-Fitr celebration bring blessings, peace, and progress to every family, Bauchi State, and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.

APC’s Abubakar Has Plan to Rebrand Bauchi Ahead of 2027, Says Kari

By Mohammed Kaka

The chairman of the Concern Group in Bauchi Central Zone, Alhaji Mohammed Musa Kari has stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for Bauchi State in 2027, M.A. Abubakar, SAN, has the experience and blueprint to reposition the state for growth.

Speaking in an interview with Baushe TV, Kari said Abubakar’s agenda centers on a total rebranding of governance across education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

He argued that Bauchi needs a new direction focused on economic empowerment and inclusive governance to restore public confidence.

“The 2027 project is not just about politics. It’s about rebuilding the confidence of the people and restoring Bauchi’s economic and social strength,” Kari said.

According to him, renovating schools, recruiting qualified teachers, introducing modern learning facilities, and expanding scholarships for students statewide will be the focus of Abubakar if elected as governor in 2027.

Kari further said, upgrading general hospitals and primary healthcare centers, especially in rural areas, with emphasis on staffing and consistent drug supply is going to form part of his administration's agenda.

Kari added that M.A apart from supporting farmers with fertilizers, improved seedlings, modern equipment, irrigation, and access to agricultural loans, is going to expand skills acquisition, vocational training, entrepreneurship programs, and small-scale business financing.

Kari stressed that many young people have talent but lack opportunities and mentorship.

“The mindset of our people must change from depending only on government jobs to embracing entrepreneurship, skills acquisition, and business development,” he said.

“Our youths must be trained in modern trades, ICT, agriculture, and innovation so they can compete nationally and internationally.”

Kari maintained that the rebranding plan would also prioritize unity, peaceful coexistence, transparency, and accountability in government.

He urged APC supporters and residents to back candidates with credible development plans ahead of the 2027 polls.

Senator Shehu Buba Umar Quits APC, Joins PRP Ahead of 2027 Polls

By Mohammed Kaka

Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who represents Bauchi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress and joined the People’s Redemption Party, in a move expected to shift political calculations in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The lawmaker stated this on Sunday, in a press release made available to newsmen by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Comrade Sabo Mohammed.

He said the decision followed consultations with political associates, community leaders, youth and women groups, and supporters across Bauchi South and the wider state.

Citing his reasons, Senator Umar pointed to what he described as the absence of internal democracy, lack of fairness, and a growing disregard for party members’ voices within the APC.

“The PRP remains a party founded on justice, accountability, people-oriented leadership, and the protection of democratic values as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said shortly after declaring for the party.

According to the senator, his defection is aimed at strengthening democratic governance, promoting the welfare of the people, and ensuring more effective representation for citizens of Bauchi State.

He called on supporters, political allies, and well-wishers to join him in the PRP to advance what he termed the struggle for good governance, social justice, youth empowerment, economic development, quality education, improved healthcare, and infrastructural development.

Umar assured constituents that his commitment to their progress remained unchanged and pledged to continue championing policies and programmes to raise living standards.

Political analysts described the defection as a major development in Bauchi State politics.

They said it is likely to reshape alignments within the state and beyond as parties begin positioning for 2027.
