Here are the things I learnt about Google Calendar πππ
Google Calendar is an online calendar and scheduling tool offered By Google. It allows users to manage their events, appointments, and tasks in an easy-to-use digital calendar.
It's a fantastic tool for managing events, and tasks, and makes one effective in tasks
1) Calendar interface: This is the main menu. It's usually at the top.
2) Search: Search by keyword: You can search for specific event titles, locations, or people by typing in a keyword in the search bar.
- Search by event type: You can search for specific types of events, such as meetings, appointments, or birthdays, by clicking on the drop-down menu in the search bar.
- Advanced search: You can use the advanced search options to refine your search by date range, event type, or other criteria.
3) Views: Google Calendar offers four views that you can switch between depending on your preference. These views are:
- Day view: Displays all events for a single day. You can also view your calendar in a 5-day view.
- Week view: Displays all events for a 7-day week.
- Month view: Displays all events for a single month.
- Schedule view: This view displays a more detailed schedule of your day, including the duration of each event. You can customize which days appear in this view.
4) Event: An event in Google Calendar is practically a digital indication of a specific occurrence or activity that you schedule on your calendar.
- Event details: Each event can have a title, date, time, location, description, and attendees.
Guests can be added by Email.
Events can also be edited, deleted, printed, and duplicated
- Recurring events: You can set an event to recur daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
- Notifications: You can set up notifications for events, such as email or SMS reminders so that you don't forget important events.
5) Task: Tasks in Google Calendar are to-do items that you can create and manage within the calendar.
- Creating tasks: You can create a task from any calendar event, or the Tasks section in the left-hand menu.
- Assigning tasks: You can assign tasks to yourself or other people.
- Managing tasks: You can prioritize tasks, add due dates, and set reminders for tasks.
- Syncing tasks: Tasks in Google Calendar can be synced with other tools, such as Google Tasks and Gmail, for better task management.
6) Additional calendar: Additional calendars in Google Calendar are additional calendars that you can add to your main calendar. This allows you to manage multiple calendars, such as work, personal, and family calendars, all in one place.
- Creating additional calendars: You can create additional calendars from the Google Calendar settings or by clicking on the "Other calendars" drop-down menu.
- Sharing additional calendars: You can share additional calendars with others, allowing them to view and edit events on the calendar.
7 )Integration:Integration in Google Calendar refers to the ability to connect Google Calendar with other applications or services, allowing them to interact and exchange data.
- Gmail: You can view calendar events from your Gmail inbox and add events directly to your calendar from your inbox.
- Google Tasks: You can sync your tasks between Google Calendar and Google Tasks, allowing you to manage your tasks and events from one place.
- Slack: You can integrate Google Calendar with Slack, allowing you to get notifications about upcoming events and receive updates about changes to events.
