**Heightened Security at National Assembly Amid Senator Natasha’s Planned Return to Plenary**

Security presence has been significantly increased at the main gate of the National Assembly complex ahead of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s planned resumption of plenary on Tuesday, July 22. Videos circulating online show a heavy deployment of security personnel, including armed officers, enforcing stricter access control measures at the complex entrance.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan announced on Saturday, July 19, her intention to resume plenary duties, citing a recent Federal High Court ruling by Justice Binta Nyako in Abuja as the basis for her decision.

However, in a statement released on Sunday, July 20, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, dismissed her claim, stating that the court ruling amounted only to an “advisory opinion” and did not constitute a binding directive on the Senate.
