Megumi could summon Mahoraga, but that never meant he could control it.

With the Ten Shadows Technique, a Shikigami has to be defeated through an exorcism ritual before its user can control it. Mahoraga was different from everything else Megumi had mastered because no Ten Shadows user had ever successfully tamed it.

That’s why when Megumi summoned Mahoraga in Shibuya, he wasn’t commanding it to fight for him. He was using it as a desperate last resort, dragging his opponent into the exorcism ritual because he knew he couldn’t defeat Mahoraga himself.

And the manga later reveals something that makes this even crazier.

SPOILERS FOR THE UNANIMATED MANGA:

After Sukuna takes over Megumi’s body, he gains access to the Ten Shadows Technique. Sukuna eventually becomes the first known user to tame Mahoraga, something no previous Ten Shadows user had accomplished.

Sukuna then takes advantage of Mahoraga’s ability to adapt, using it against some of the strongest characters in the series.

This shows just how much potential the Ten Shadows Technique had beyond what Megumi was able to accomplish with it.

Megumi could summon Mahoraga, but Sukuna was the one who actually mastered it.

Obanai Iguro may have been one of the most intimidating Hashira, but whenever Mitsuri Kanroji was around, we got to see a completely different side of him.

He genuinely cared about Mitsuri and quietly supported her in his own way, while Mitsuri always appreciated the kindness he showed her. Their personalities were completely different, yet somehow, they understood each other and brought out the softer side of one another.

I would love to talk about their final fight and everything that happens between them later in the story, but that would be a major spoiler for anime-only fans. So I’ll save those details for when the anime gets there.

For now, let’s just appreciate the beautiful bond between the Love Hashira and the Serpent Hashira.

But somehow, it actually worked for BOTH of them! Chapter 1191 showed Luffy and Loki eating to recover and get back into the fight.

After everything Orihime has been through, seeing her seemingly go down like this is hard to accept.

She stood against Yhwach, pushed her powers further than ever, and fought to protect Ichigo until the very end.

Then THAT moment happened…

The flowers, the silence, and Orihime’s final expression made the whole scene feel like something much bigger was happening.

But honestly, I refuse to believe this is where her story ends.

I still believe a miracle will happen and somehow bring Orihime back to life. With everything we know about her powers and the role she has played in Ichigo’s journey, it feels impossible for this to be her final moment.

Muichiro may have looked like a quiet and absent-minded kid, but behind that expression was one of the most naturally gifted Demon Slayers in the entire series.

He became a Hashira at an incredibly young age and mastered Mist Breathing with frightening speed. Despite his small frame and calm personality, Muichiro possessed extraordinary talent and battle instincts.

What makes his story even more impressive is what he accomplished in the Infinity Castle.

Muichiro fought Kokushibo, the Upper Rank One, and pushed himself beyond his limits against one of the strongest demons to ever exist. Even after being severely injured, he continued fighting and played a crucial role in bringing Kokushibo down.

He also awakened the Demon Slayer Mark, gained access to the Transparent World, and turned his Nichirin blade bright red — abilities that allowed him to contribute significantly against an opponent on an entirely different level.

What makes it even more heartbreaking is that Muichiro was still just a teenager.

After everything he’s been through, Yuji is still alive decades later, but surviving for this long has come with a devastating cost.

The difference between Yuji’s past self and the person he has become can be seen so vividly. The bright, determined expression he once had feels completely different now.

He has watched people around him grow old, move on, and disappear while he remains almost unchanged.

And now, you can see the emptiness in his eyes.

There’s something completely different about Yuji’s expression now. The warmth and determination he once carried seem buried beneath years of memories, loss, and loneliness.

Yuji spent his entire life fighting to protect others and give meaning to the lives of the people he lost. Now he’s left carrying those memories while almost everyone from his generation is gone.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE YUJI WE ONCE KNEW AND THE YUJI STANDING HERE NOW IS ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING.
