Ihedioha Youth Movement Refutes Purported Endorsement of Sam Anyanwu, Warns Against Criminal Impersonation:
Allover the world, great men in all fields of human endeavour, particularly, notable politicians usually have credible support groups that effectively drive the philosophy and ideas of such personalities to the grassroots.
The primary goal of such groups which might be social, cultural, technical or even political, is to effectively market the aspirations of such leaders at all levels.
Going into independence and shortly after that, Nigeria and indeed, the entire Black World, was greeted with the Zikist Movement that ultimately highlighted the philosophy and ideas of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, popularly known as Zik of Africa. The Zikist Movement substantially made Zik popular and largely acceptable to Nigerians of that epoch making era.
Taking a cue from the Zikist Movement exponents, followers of Chief Obafemi Awolowo gathered and swiftly agreed to form a movement, the Awoists. Till the last February 25, 2023 presidential election, this group weilded significant influence, especially in the South West.
This brings us to the highly intentioned, respected and formidable Ihedioha Youth Movement, IYM. Ihedioha Youth Movement came into being out of the urgent need to Liberate and Rebuild Imo from a state of despondency, depression which witnessed unimaginable infrastructural collapse, youth restiveness, insecurity, and total collapse of governance.
As name indicates, IYM, made of youths from various strata in the state - across political parties though predominantly of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, across Christian denominations, artisans, students, youth groups across the 307 Wards in the 27 Local Government Areas of the state voluntarily identified and pitched tent with His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON.
