THE SHAPING HAND:
Once upon a time, in a village surrounded by mountains and rivers, there was a skilled potter named Jason. His workshop was humble, filled with tools and clay, but Jason held a secret: he believed that each piece of clay he worked with was touched by the hand of the Creator. He knew that every shape and curve he formed had a purpose beyond the eye could see.
One evening, as the sun dipped behind the hills, Jason sat at his wheel, preparing for the final creation of the day. He chose a lump of clay unlike any other. It was rough, jagged, and full of imperfections. As his hands met the clay, he whispered softly, “I see you, even in your brokenness. You are more than what you appear.”
The clay resisted, hard and stubborn under his touch, refusing to yield to his will. “Why do you fight?” Jason asked, his voice gentle. “I can shape you into something beautiful, but you must trust me.”
The clay remained unyielding, full of doubts and fears, unwilling to let go of its rough edges. But Jason did not give up. Slowly, he worked with precision and care, coaxing the clay into submission. With every gentle press of his hands, the clay began to soften. The rough surfaces smoothed, and the form began to take shape.
As the vessel emerged, flawless and graceful, the potter smiled. “You were not broken,” he said softly. “You were merely being shaped.”
Then, Jason placed the clay into the kiln, where it would endure the heat necessary to complete its transformation. The clay, though once afraid of the fire, now understood that it was through the fire it would find its true strength. As the kiln's flames rose, the vessel hardened, becoming stronger, more resilient.
When the clay finally emerged from the kiln, it was not just a pot, it was a work of art. Beautiful, strong, and ready for its purpose.
Jason placed the vessel on a pedestal and said, “You are not just a creation of my hands; you are a creation of a higher hand. You are a reflection of the One who shaped you, and though you may struggle through pain and doubt, trust that your purpose is always greater than you can imagine. Through the hands of the Creator, you find your true form.
This emphasizes the spiritual journey, where the clay represents humanity, the potter symbolizes God, and the process reflects the transformation that comes from trust, patience, and divine guidance.
Happy Sunday 😊
