MY RIVER MOTHER 🥹
Episode 4
Omma was already three years before Anwuli married Uremma his second wife who gave birth to Adaku who jealous and wicked Alice pushed into the river. Which means Omma gap Adaku with three years.
As the children begin to grow, Alice h a t red towards Adaku grew too. Apart from the h a t red she has for the innocent child's late mother, Adaku which means ( child of wealth ) grew to be a very smart, beautiful and intelligent girl. With the sympathy for growing without the love of her biological mother, in addition to the fact that she's smart intelligent and beautiful girl, the love of Anwuli their father towards Adaku became more than the one he has for Omma. This makes Alice even more furious and envy that each time Adaku calls her mama, there's this boiling anger in her mind. She will almost yelled the phrase "I am not your mother" at Adaku each time she calls her Mama. But she will remember that there's an agreement that Adaku must not know she's not her real mother until the right time. But her behavior and attitude towards Adaku and the way she treat her is totally different from the way she pampers, love and care for her daughter Omma. Not just that, now that Adaku is ten years and Omma thirteen years old, she started sowing the seed of discords in the heart of Omma against her sister Adaku.
Adaku : mama I have finish washing the plates. I'm hungry!!! she said politely 🥹.
Alice : and who told you once you just finish washing the plates the next thing that follows is food??? Eh??? Adaku!!!!.
Adaku : mama I am sorry it's just that I am very hungry let me eat and after which I promise to do other things 🙏.
Alice : its high time you start following your mates to the river to fetch water in this house and you are starting that today. Look at little children who are not even up to your age going to the river to fetch water for their mother. Better carry that small pot now and follow them to the river else there will be no food for you in this house and If you dare speak to your father about it when he comes back, then consider yourself d ea d when next he leaves this house.
Omma : mama!!! she called her mother where she was eating her own food. ( Omma who is Adaku's elder sister ate her food without doing anything!!!. While Adaku was washing plates, Omma was eating and now that she has finish washing plates, Alice is still refusing to give the innocent girl her food insisting that until she follow her mates to the river to fetch water before she will eat 🥹. )
Alice : Omma what is it??? Why are you calling me??
Omma : mama I am not satisfied ooo. she complained about being not satisfied after eating while Adaku the youngest haven't even tested water 😭.
Alice : ehe!!! if you are not satisfied go to the pot and carry more food na!!!. ( Omma went to the pot of food and carry more. But this wasn't for her. She was actually okay with the one her mother gave her. She looked for a nylon and put some food in it and hide it. ). After some minutes, she said she was done eating and started disturbing her mother that she wants to go to the river. At first Alice refuse but through much disturbance she said.
Alice : okay if you see people that are going that you know, both you and Adaku should follow them. ( Adaku that hasn't eaten 😭😭 ).
Truly, they saw some people going to the river and they followed them though Adaku wasn't having much strength but what can she do?? But before they go, Omma took her little pot that she's going to fetch water with inside the room and put that food she tied in a nylon inside the pot. And on their way, she brought it out and gave it to her sister Adaku. Come and see the way she rushed the food like a hungry lion jumping and thanking her sister 😭😭😭. When they got to the river, she drank water. That was her first visit to Osimiri and that was the first day she discovered a new home in the river. Remember this is the abode of Uremma her biological mother 😭😭😭.
