If it were possible, I would love to see my late dad again, embrace him with tears in my eyes, and thank him for all the sacrifices and efforts he made while I was growing up even if it was simply making sure we had food to eat every day. Death is truly an eye-opener.

I feel cheated by life sometimes, knowing I never had the opportunity to sit with my dad as a fully grown man and learn from him directly. I wish I could have asked him how he managed to overcome challenges, how he carried pain yet still found reasons to smile, how he handled the noise and distractions that came during his youthful years, and most importantly, how he was able to rewrite his story and eventually succeed.
