Yahaya Bello Trial

Drama unfolded in court as an Access Bank compliance officer testified that a ₦2.1 billion loan allegedly taken by Keyless Nature Limited in 2021 was repaid using funds traced to multiple Kogi State Local Government accounts.

According to the witness, repayments were made monthly and followed a consistent pattern — with funds reportedly coming from LGAs.

The court also heard that another company, Westwood Limited, received an ₦818.6 million loan, which was allegedly repaid through numerous cash deposits made by different individuals in Lokoja.

Even more striking were reports of repeated ₦10 million cash withdrawals — sometimes up to ₦300 million in a single day — from the Kogi State Government House account between 2018 and 2019. The bank said it filed a Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) over some of the transactions.

The trial continues as more details emerge.
