ASCON WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT FG’S VISION OF A PROFESSIONALISED, FUTURE-READY CIVIL SERVICE – ADEPOJU AT ONCE-KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM INAUGURATION
The Director-General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Mrs. Funke Adepoju, says the institution will continue to support the Federal Government’s vision of building a professionalised and future-ready Civil Service.
Adepoju made the pledge on Friday in Abuja while attending the inauguration of the ONCE-Knowledge System Steering Committee by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni.
She described the initiative as a bold and visionary step towards repositioning the Service for efficiency, innovation, and global competitiveness.
“As Nigeria’s foremost training institution, ASCON remains committed to providing tailored programmes, strategic collaborations, and knowledge-driven solutions that will strengthen the Civil Service. The ONCE-Knowledge System provides a unique opportunity to harmonise training, performance, and knowledge preservation for national development,” Adepoju said.
Earlier, Walson-Jack explained that the ONCE-Knowledge System is anchored on the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (Pillar One). She said it would cover onboarding, continuous professional development, leadership enhancement, structured exit management, and knowledge preservation.
“This initiative streamlines capacity building and talent management across the Service, ensuring that every civil servant, from entry to exit, is empowered with the right skills, knowledge, and support for excellence,” she said.
The HCSF emphasised that the milestone reflects the Federal Government’s determination to build a skilled workforce capable of delivering world-class public services to Nigerians.
“This is about making the Nigerian Civil Service not only globally competitive but also an engine of sustainable national development,” Walson-Jack noted.
