FG revamps Npower programme, changes name to Skill to Wealth.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed his resolve to overhaul and relaunch the Npower programme under a new title, Skills to Wealth.
In an announcement via the official page of the ministry, the minister reiterated his commitment to executing the programme with increased effectiveness and openness.

The minister also indicated that in the near future, the ministry will unveil campaigns aimed at assisting Nigerians, particularly targeting vulnerable populations and the youth.

One of such prominent initiative, he discloed, is the Skill to Wealth programme, in collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), set for launch next week.

The programme will roll out across six geopolitical regions, starting with a pilot involving 1,090 participants (10 from each senatorial district).

The aim is to engage over 1.5 million young individuals, both graduates and non-graduates, similar to the previous Npower model.

The initiative is expected to have an economic impact by furnishing youth with the necessary skills to become both wealth and job creators, thereby alleviating poverty and improving personal well-being.

Training sessions will be conducted throughout the six geo-political zones, established through strong strategic alliances with the NBTE, the ministries of agriculture, trade, industry and investment, and the Digital Bridge Institute.

The programme will concentrate on themes such as agriculture (including production and processing), renewable energy (with a focus on solar installation), and auto mechanics.

The minister said that this initiative transcends mere skill development, as it aims to cultivate a generation of empowered Nigerians ready to launch businesses, create jobs, and drive development from the grassroots level.

In a world of many talents, plenty skills and so little opportunities, it's stupid of you to call someone lazy just cos they're not on the level as you. It is foolish of you to call someone poor cos they don't have the kind of money you have. It's very bad to call someone cursed just cos you are more privileged than them.

Life affects people differently and the 6 you see on the other side, could actually be a 9 on my own side.

Earning money isn't a day's job or a bed of roses.

Many have had it easy in life from birth, while some will have to work round the clock to see the little to fall back on.

You could be one of those who make little or no effort but favor find you wherever.
It doesn't mean you should mock others though.

We all can't be rich can we?
Same as we all can't be poor.
Same way we can't decide how we look, is the same way we can't decide the lineage we are born into.

Stop the brokeshaming and all.

Pi Network has released two-factor authentication (2FA) for wallet confirmation that requires some Pioneers to complete 2FA using a trusted email before their Pi is successfully migrated to the Mainnet blockchain. This secures and confirms Pioneers’ Pi Wallets, supporting the security of Pioneers’ accounts and their Pi.

Certain Pioneers who migrated their Pi to Mainnet over the last few weeks—but are still within the 14 day pending period—will also need to complete 2FA; otherwise, their Pi will be securely returned to their mining app. After the completion of the 2FA, their same balance will get migrated again.

FG scraps JSS, SSS, introduces 12-year basic education model

The Federal Government has announced the scrapping of all Junior Secondary School (JSS) and Senior Secondary Schools in the country and introduced a compulsory 12-year uninterrupted basic education model after which a Nigerian child can aspire to higher education.

With this development, the Nigerian Government is seeking the abolition of 6-3-3-4 education system and replacing it with 12-4.

This is even as it has sought the approval of the National Council on Education to officially adopt 16 years as the minimum entry age requirement into the country’s tertiary institutions.

Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, revealed this on Thursday in Abuja during the 2025 extraordinary National Council on Education meeting.

The Guardian reports that the NCE is the highest policy-making body in the education sector.

The event was graced by commissioners for education in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), agencies and parastatals under the Ministry, and development partners.

According to the Minister, by subsuming secondary education into basic education, students will benefit from uninterrupted learning up to the age of 16.

Alausa said the new policy is in line with global best practices.
The reform, he stressed, will also reduce dropout rates by eliminating financial and systemic barriers that currently prevent students from completing secondary education.

“Extending basic education to 12 years will ensure a standardized curriculum that is uniformly implemented across the nation,” Alausa said.

“This will also facilitate early exposure to vocational and entrepreneurial skills, preparing students for both higher education and employment.

“Many developed nations have implemented similar systems where basic education spans 12 years, ensuring that students acquire foundational knowledge before specializing at tertiary levels.

“This reform also aligns Nigeria’s education sy
