According to SOCAN Members have an option to choose their US Rep under SOCAN.
So as your selected U.S Rep who will work with SOCAN to collect your royalties on your behalf.

Although, Olusola's had already selected ASCAP as US Rep during the first registration process on SOCAN. But he later saw other benefits in SESAC and he was able to request for a change in the US Rep in SOCAN. And the request was granted after sending messages to [email protected].
Hopefully its optional to select your US Rep from ASCAP, BMI, SESAC.

SESAC became the US Rep under the affiliate PRO in SOCAN to collect royalties on behalf of Olusola David Ayibiowu starting from 22nd April 2025 as a performing rights organization.
The SESAC headquarters are located in Nashville and offices in New York. Los Angeles, Atlanta, Maimi and London.

SESAC is a for-profit performance-rights organization in the United States. Founded in 1930 as the Society of European Stage Authors and Composers, it is the second-oldest performance-rights organization in the United States. SESAC has 30,000 songwriters and more than 1 million compositions in its catalogue.

On the other hand, SESAC represents Society of European Stage Authors and Composers which was founded by Paul Heinecke, a German immigrant, in New York in 1930. SESAC originally strove to support underrepresented European stage authors and composers with their American performance royalties, hence the original name. Heinecke led the firm until his death in 1972.
