Most of you should know me pretty well. I no longer accept very many friends because I feel it’s not for me. And of late I’m not a fan of the platform. Almost every FB friend I have, I’ve known on some level, you are not just a number. But if you are still on my FB, it’s because we have some connection. I would love to see if we can still chat more than just likes... I decided to participate in an experience called “Meeting between Bowls of rice”. The idea is to see who reads a post without a photo. We are so consumed with technology that we forget the most important thing: good friendship. If no one is reading this message, it will be a short social experiment. 1️⃣ Take Full Responsibility for Your Life:
Stop blaming people, the government, village people, or the devil. Stop focusing on things you can’t personally change and start focusing on what you can change and improve, your own life. The moment you take responsibility, progress begins.

2️⃣ Respect Your Source of Income:
Be diligent and serious with the job or business that brings money into your life. It is your defence and what answers all things (Ecclesiastes 7:12; 10:19). In Africa, even religious organisations, despite their spiritual power, do not joke with their sources of income (offerings, donations, etc.). Why? Because income is key. If powerful spiritual organisations don’t joke with income, then you have no excuse to be unserious with yours. Take your source of income very seriously this year.

3️⃣ Create More Than One Source of Income:
This is crucial. In today’s Nigeria, relying on a single source of income is risky. Even religious organisations, big companies, and corporations have multiple income streams. As an individual, you need more than one source of income, especially if your current income does not meet your basic needs. Multiple streams create stability.

4️⃣ Track and Control Your Spending:
If you don’t control your money, your money will keep slipping off your hands. Budgeting is not optional this year, it is a must. Budget the way you will spend your salary or profit. Prioritise essentials. Cut off expenses that drain your money without adding value. Reduce oblee. Let go betting, completely. It’s draining your finances. This year, don’t just live within your means. Live below it.

5️⃣ Always Save Before You Spend:
All through this year, the moment you receive your salary or income, save first before you spend. Saving is not what you should do out of leftover money; no. It is what you remove first before spending begins. It is wrong not to pay your future first. Very wrong. Every saves first!

THE CAUSES OF DIVORCE — AND THE WAY OF RESTORATION 🥲

The breaking of a home is not just a legal event; it is a spiritual and systemic collapse that echoes into eternity. When a marriage fails, it is rarely a sudden event; it is the harvest of seeds sown in ignorance, pride, and the absence of intentionality.
To heal our society, we must move beyond emotional sentiments and understand the pillars that sustain a union.

The Root Causes of Marital Decay:
1. The Crisis of Spiritual Incompatibility: Many enter unions based on physical chemistry while ignoring spiritual alignment. A marriage cannot survive when two people are pulling in opposite directions at the level of values and convictions.

2. The Erosion of Honor: In many homes today, familiarity has bred contempt. Once honor—the recognition of your partner’s worth—is lost, the foundation is compromised.

3. The Silence of Unmet Expectations: Most couples marry a "version" of a person they created in their minds. When the reality of human frailty sets in, frustration leads to resentment, and resentment leads to the exit door.

4. Financial Illiteracy and Pressure: It is not always the lack of money, but the lack of a shared philosophy regarding its management. Secrets and financial indiscipline create a breach of trust that is difficult to bridge.

5. External Interference: A marriage thrives in a "closed system." When third parties—be they parents, friends, or social media influences—become the architects of a home, the structure will eventually tilt.

6. Lack of Communication and Emotional Intelligence
Silence becomes a weapon. Assumptions replace conversations. Hearts drift apart long before papers are signed.

7. Unresolved Character Issues
Anger, pride, infidelity, irresponsibility, and addictions ignored before marriage become amplified after marriage.
