Gamawa Emirate to Develop an Education Model to Boost School Enrolment.

Stakeholders in Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State have pledged resolve to develop an Education Model aimed at encouraging the enrolment, retention and completion of school among children in the area.

They gave the indication when the Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB Alhaji Abubakar Isa led management of the board and UNICEF on an advocacy visit to the Emir of Gamawa at his palace.

Speaking during the visit, the Emir of Gamawa, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir, who thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for upgrading the Emirate and ongoing renovation of Gamawa Emirs palace, assured support of all policies and programmes of government aimed developing the education sector in the state.

He said the emirate in collaboration with major stakeholders will develop a model towards developing the basic education sun sector to achieve the government set objectives.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman SUBEB, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba, said the visit was to solicit the support of Gamawa Emirate Council to achieve the enrollment, retention and completion campaign in the state.

Abubakar Isa represented by the Permanent Commissioner One, Alhaji Isiaku Abdullahi,appealed to the Emir to enlighten his subjects on the need to protect school facilities against vandalism and theft by unpatriotic persons.

He appealed to the Monarch to sensitise parents and guardians on the importance of education towards securing a brighter future for their children and wards.

The SUBEB Chairman attributed insecurity and other vices bedevilling the society to the high rate of illiteracy among the populace.
