ATAPOLY PLANS TO PROVIDE A SUPPORT PACKAGE FOR ITS FITNESS COMMUNITY

Beyond fitness squad, The Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi is looking for a possible way to provide a support-package for its regular members in order to strengthen affection and togetherness in the community

This was announced by the Rector of the Polytechnic Dr Hashim Sabo Bello during the weekly keep fit briefing in the Institution. He said the support will encourage more participations across the Polytechnic's neighbouring communities.

Giving example with the former president Obasanjo, Dr Hashim explained that people should inculcate the habits of exercise in order to live long in strength and good health.

In his comments, the registrar Malam Lawal Samabo expressed satisfaction with the increasing number of new members into the physical training.

Earlier in his remarks, the director sports Malam Idris Shehu informed the new members about the common rules of engagement of the community and urged them to maintain the morale of the physical exercises.

The Atapoly weekly exercise is part of the community services initiated by Polytechnic taking place every Saturday at 6:30am to 8:00am in the polytechnic.

NEDC PURCHASES ELECTRIC BUSES, TRICYCLES, OTHERS FOR ONWARD DISTRIBUTION

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has purchased electric buses, vehicles and tricycles for onward distribution among the six states of the zone.

This is contained on a notice released by the commission on Friday 14th August, 2026. The release added that the reason was to ease the difficulties faced by commuters and reduce the threat of environmental pollutions

The states in the Eastern zone include: Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba states.

Tsohon Mataimakin Shugaban Nijeriya kuma dan takarar shugaban kasa na jam’iyyar ADC, Atiku Abubakar, ya garzaya Babbar Kotun Tarayya da ke Abuja domin kalubalantar cancantar Shugaba Bola Ahmed Tinubu shiga zaben shugaban kasa na 2027.

Bayanin hakan na kunshe ne a cikin wata sanarwa daga mataimakin na musamman ga Atiku kan kafafen yada labarai Phrank Shaibu.

A karar, Atiku da ADC sun yi zargin cewa Shugaba Tinubu ya gabatar wa INEC da takardar shaidar kammala bautar kasa ta NYSC mai dauke da sunan “Tinubu Bola Adekunle”, maimakon “Bola Ahmed
Tinubu”. Masu karar suna neman kotu ta tantance sahihancin takardar tare da umartar INEC ta gabatar da bayanan Form CF001 da Tinubu ya mika mata dangane da zabukan 2023 da 2027. Sun kafa hujjarsu ne kan sashe na 137(1)(j) na Kundin Tsarin Mulkin Nijeriya, wanda ya tanadi rashin cancantar mutumin da aka tabbatar ya gabatar da takardar shaida ta bogi ga INEC.

Atiku Abubakar ya ce manufar karar ita ce a bai wa kotu damar tantance hujjojin da aka gabatar, ba wai yanke hukunci ta kafafen sada zumunta ba. Ya kuma bukaci INEC ta nuna rashin son kai ta hanyar gabatar da takardun da ake bukata a gaban kotu. Daga cikin bukatun Atiku da ADC akwai neman kotu ta hana Tinubu da APC shiga zaben shugaban kasa na 2027 idan aka tabbatar da zarge-zargen da s**a gabatar, yana mai jaddada cewa babu wani dan Nijeriya da ya fi karfin Kundin Tsarin Mulki.

PRESIDENT TINUBU CHARGES SECURITY AGENCIES TO PROTECT VOTERS AND INEC OFFICIALS IN OSUN STATE ELECTION

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies to ensure a peaceful and transparent election in the forthcoming Osun State.

The governorship election in Osun state is coming on Saturday, August 15, 2026 where 15 candidates are contesting. Among them are the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke, the All Progressives Congress candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, and the African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam.

In a statement by the Special Adviser, information and strategy Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu charges the electorate in the state to come out to discharge their civic responsibility and eschew any act that could disrupt the peaceful conduct of the election.

He further charges the Inspector-General of Police and other heads of security outfits taking part in the election to provide maximum security at polling units. No room should be allowed for troublemakers to disrupt the process.

It reiterates that Electoral officials and voters must be protected so they can perform their civic duties without fear or intimidation.

President Tinubu maintains that elections must be credible, and the outcome of the Osun Governorship election must reflect the will of the people.

COMRADE MUNIRAT ABDULLAHI EMERGES FIRST SUG PRESIDENT IN ATBU BAUCHI.

Comrade Munirat Favour Abdullahi has been confirmed as the first female president of the Students' Union Government (SUG) in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi after the resignation of the former presdor over alleged financial gross misconduct.

It is unusual to see a female leading students' union in Nigeria's tertiary Institutions but this is the first in history of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa university Bauchi where a female student become SUG president.

Before her emergence, Munirat Favour Abdullahi served as the vice president of the union.
