A Massive ICT Centre Opens in Azare, Built by Usman Adamu Sufi for the Community
From Azare, Bauchi State.
A grand opening ceremony has been held for a large Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The centre was established by Hon. Usman Adamu Ahmed Sufi, the PDP candidate for Governor of Bauchi State in the 2027 election, for the benefit of the people of the area.
The event was held today, Sunday, August 16, 2026, with the centre providing an important opportunity for young people and other members of the community to access education, training, and modern technology.
Previous reports have confirmed that the centre established by Sufi in Azare is among the major privately established ICT centres in the North-Eastern region of Nigeria.
The opening ceremony attracted a large number of people from different sectors, including prominent politicians, stakeholders, youths, and other members of the community.
The event was also attended by representatives of some of the major candidates contesting the Bauchi State governorship election in 2027, particularly from the PRP and ADC parties. This further demonstrates the importance of the centre to the community and the growing recognition among stakeholders of the need to promote modern technological education.
The ICT Centre comes at a time when there is an increasing need to provide young people with opportunities to acquire modern technological skills, particularly in computer studies, communications, modern vocational skills, and the digital economy.
For the people of Azare and surrounding communities, the establishment of such a centre could provide a major opportunity to empower young people by giving them access to skills that can help them secure employment, become self-reliant, and participate actively in the digital economy.
Hon. Usman Adamu Sufi, who has been confirmed by the PDP as its candidate for Governor of Bauchi State in the 2027 election, has previously stated that education and healthcare would be among his priorities if elected.
The opening of the centre in Azare has further placed the town on the map of communities providing young people with access to modern technology, while opening a new chapter in efforts to support the community through education and technology.
The event also provided an opportunity for major stakeholders from different political backgrounds to come together, with representatives of the PRP and ADC parties in attendance. This gave the ceremony an important political and collaborative dimension.
This massive ICT Centre is currently one of the leading ICT centres in the Bauchi North area.
