Faith that brings peace is a blessing but hope that is sold should always be examined

.....They said a miracle was coming, just after the offering.🤷

THE BUSINESS OF MIRACLES

Once, miracles were simple stories people shared with quiet gratitude. There were no posters, no deadlines, and no pressure. People believed because something good happened, not because they were told it must.

This is not about rejecting faith.

It is about understanding it better.

When life becomes hard, hope becomes precious. And wherever hope is precious, some people try to sell it. They speak kindly, promise much, and ask for very little at first. But slowly, belief begins to feel like a transaction: give something today so that something good may come tomorrow.

An African proverb reminds us: “The one who carries the calabash decides how the water is shared.”
When one person controls the flow, others must be careful.

True miracles do not rush people. They do not scare them with warnings or blame them when nothing happens. They leave room for waiting, healing, and even unanswered prayers. They do not shame the sick or the poor for still struggling.
Yet today, many miracles are performed like shows. Good stories are repeated loudly. Silent pain is pushed aside quietly.

When things go wrong, people are told their faith was not strong enough, while those in charge are never questioned.

Another African proverb teaches us: “The path that promises gold must still be walked with open eyes.”

Hope should never ask us to stop thinking.

Faith was meant to give comfort, not pressure. It was meant to lift people, not make them feel guilty for their suffering. When belief starts to feel heavy, it is time to pause and ask gentle questions.

🤷This does not mean miracles are false.

👌It means wisdom is necessary.

The future of faith lies in honesty, care, and responsibility. In leaders who help without demanding payment. In believers who know that asking questions is not disrespect, it is protection.

Because faith that brings peace is a blessing.
💪But hope that is sold should always be examined.

👌👌Faith should heal hearts, not empty pockets.

oh Lord!! please humble me even in wealth, let me always see where I come from before where I am now so I don't go astray. Amen

I think we all need to make this prayer everyday so we don't allow people praises influence us wrongly.

Today's Proverb
“The mosquito thinks the ear exists only for its song.”

This proverb humorously exposes pride, self-importance, and false assumptions.
It means that some people mistakenly believe the world revolves around them, their opinions, their voice, or their presence. Like the mosquito, they assume others exist only to listen, applaud, or accommodate them without realizing they are often an irritation rather than a blessing.

Deeper lesson:
Loudness is not importance
Attention is not relevance
Being heard does not mean being needed

The proverb warns against:
Talking without listening
Assuming everyone cares about your views
Mistaking access for significance
Confusing noise with value

🎈Not every microphone makes you a leader
🎈Not every post deserves attention
🎈Being present doesn’t mean being central

African wisdom reminds us:
Humility earns respect.
Silence often carries more weight than noise.

Did you know Ijaw land produces the highest amount of Egbene (Okpukpa) and we have over 10 species of Ogbono, e.g ;

(1) Kpulukpulu Bau - The smallest size doesn't grow more than that.

(2) Pu o Sei - Almost always yellow in colour, You need to be tactical while breaking this species.

(3) Opu Tibi (big head) The biggest Specie and it is very sweet, this is the one we lick like mango.

4. Oloko Ogboin: It comes in yellow colour and very big too.

5. Tibi Duba: Another species of Oputibi.

This is just a few of them.

Now, these trees are not owned by anyone, it is for everyone, that is the reason why people wake up as early as 12am to prepare for the journey, while others have camps near the trees for months Just to pack Ogbono and they only return home after each season.

A man in Kano, Nigeria went to a foodseller.
He had not eaten in 3 days.
He bêgged the seller for food on credit.

The foodseller said no because he already gave food to too many people on credit.

The man sat down beside the foodseller’s shop as he had nowhere else to go.

The foodseller told him he’s very sørry and he would like to help but too many people in the neighbourhood have collected food on credit and his business is sínkīng.

The man sat there and said nothing.

As time went on, other people came into the shop to buy foodstuff and went out- they noticed the man at the door sitting there sleeping. But nobody bōthered.

Until one man came later in the day and asked the foodseller: “who is the man sitting at your door?” “Why is he there?”

Then the foodseller said “oh it’s a man who says he has not eaten for 3 days and he wants to collect food on credit but I could not give him because my business is strūggliñg from all the credit I have already given out”.

Then the other man said: “How much is the food he wants?”

The food seller said “It’s a few cups of garri, rice and beans. Everything may be 2,000 naira”.

The other man said “Alright pack everything he wants and more. I would pay for it. Let him go home to his family and eat”.

The foodseller packed all the food and went outside to tell the man with joy that someone has paid for his food.

He saw the man still sleeping.
He tâpped him to wake him up, he didn’t respond. Tâpped him again, nothing.

The man had dīed.
He dīed sitting and waiting for help.

The man was de@d all along while people were coming in and out of the shop thinking he was sleeping.

He dīed høpeless. He dīed hêlpless. He dīed a man who his country faīled.

If you know anyone in this periød who is hūngry around you and you can afford a little food or money to give him/her, please do.

Many people are walking the streets with an ēmpty stomach.🙌🙏🤲👀
