THE BENIN BRONZES BELONG HOME !!

For those that don’t know, I’m from Esanland, a proud people within the cultural reach of the Benin Kingdom. a powerful civilization that thrived centuries before Western colonization.

Slavery and colonization weakened the kingdom, broke our spirit, and in 1897, the British military destroyed Benin City and exiled the Oba, our king.

The Benin Bronzes are not just art. They are the soul of our people, stolen during the brutal 1897 British raid.

For over 100 years, these treasures have been kept in Western museums without respect or justice. This is about stolen identity and ongoing pain.

Returning these bronzes means justice, healing, and reclaiming dignity.

I hold this message loud and clear on behalf of my ancestors who suffered during the 1897 invasion. We demand justice. We demand repatriation and reparations.
