NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT CONCLUDES PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION TO AFFECTED PERSONS TO SPEED UP THE BIDA/MINNA AND BIDA RING ROAD PROJECTS.

Niger State Government has concluded payment of compensation to all affected persons for the construction of Bida-Minna and Bida Ring Road projects

The payment was part of Farmer Governor Umaru Bago's commitment to the actualization of the Construction of the Road Projects in line with his Urban Renewal initiative.

The Farmer Governor desired that all those affected by gigantic projects get whatever is due to them hence the compensation was carried out comprehensively.

With the completion of the payment of compensation, the ex*****on of the Road projects will now witness significant progress.

The Bago-led administration is determined to implement the Urban Renewal Initiative in all the major Cities across the State.

SALARY IS OUR RIGHT NOT A PRIVILEGE SAYS, PROTESTERS OF BIDA LOCAL GOVERNMENT TEACHERS

Primary School teachers under Bida Local Education Authority in collaboration with their union leaders NUT, NULGE and NLC had a peace demonstration concerning non payment of December salary by the local government chairman.

The teachers, who besieged the local government secretariat and block the federal road lamented that the chairman was yet to pay them their December salary after being screened and cleared, said over 1,000 teachers affected.

The NUT chairman Comr. Baba Alhassan expressed his displeasure over unpaid December salary for it's members despite they have being cleared in the last screening organized by the chairman Bida Local Government Hon. Baba Shaba.

One of the protesters, who spoke with the journalist, said the chairman contracted with one Mr. Sh*ttu to screen the teachers and fish out the ghost workers but the said consultant screen and cleared them since December but up to date they are yet to be paid their salaries.

Meanwhile, team of the Nigerian police sent by the Area Commander appeal to the teachers to unblock the road for travelers and passerby, promise that their grievances will be channel to appropriate authorities for intervention.

The local government under the leadership of Bala Shaba organized screening for it's staffs in the local government since last November to checkmate the authenticity of their appointments but the consultant failed to honor the time of reference presented to the union leaders thereby resulting non payment of their salaries.

NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT TO ENROL FAMILY MEMBERS OF FALLEN HEROES AND EX-SERVICEMEN IN SOCIAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMMES

Niger State Government has reassured ex-servicemen and family members of fallen heroes that it will engage them productively through the State Ministry of Medium and Micro Small Scale Enterprises.

Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago stated this in an interview during the 2024 Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Wreath laying ceremony at the Permanent Cenotaph, Minna.

Farmer Governor who was represented by his Deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba, said that the State owes it a duty to cater for the families of fallen heroes and also the ex-servicemen who have paid their dues in serving their fatherland.

He said they will be enrolled into different categories of social investment programmes based on their ages.

The Farmer Governor said the State Government will not allow them to be subjected to poverty and that the services of the ex-servicemen will continuously be needed in dealing with the security challenges in the State.

The Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Niger State Council, Mamuda Baba Ahmed appreciated the efforts of Farmer Governor Umaru Bago who has shown commitment towards their plights.

He expressed optimism that the State Government will redeem its pledge made to the Legion while calling on it to engage the cadets trained by the Nigerian Legion Corps of Commissionaires so that they can equally help address insecurity.

Highlights of the event were the wreath laying by the Governor and other key actors, gun salute, release of pigeons and colour match out.

NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT TO PROSECUTE ANYONE CAUGHT VANDALIZING GOVERNMENT PROPERTY AS DSS PARADES 17 SUSPECTS.

Niger State Government has issued a stern warning to members of the public that anyone found vandalising Government property will be arrested and prosecuted according to the law.

BIDA TV reports that the Deputy Director, Civil, Niger State Ministry of Works, Muhammad Kudu Madami issued the warning when addressing the media after 17 suspected vandals of the interlocking tiles were paraded at the DSS Command Office, Minna.

Kudu Madami said the arrests of the suspects were carried out with the collaboration of the DSS and the State Government stressing that the government will not fold its arms and watch people vandalize its property.

He disclosed that the suspects will be thoroughly investigated by the DSS and will be handed over to the appropriate authority for further action.

The Deputy Director also stated that efforts are on to fish out more suspects.

RukotoTV gathered that among the things confiscated from the suspects include two big lorries containing sharp sand, three pickup trucks ladened with interlocking tiles, one Bus, and two tricycles all loaded with interlocking tiles.

Other items include shovels, wheelbarrows and hoes.

Tinubu Orders Probe Of Edu’s Ministry, Vows To Take Action

President Bola Tinubu has ordered a thorough probe of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation led by Betta Edu.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known in a statement on Sunday.

Controversy had enveloped Edu’s alleged involvement in the approval of N585,198,500.00 to be disbursed into a personal account.

In a letter allegedly signed by the humanitarian minister, she allegedly instructed the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Oluwatoyin Madein, to transfer the sum to the account of one Oniyelu Bridget as grant for vulnerable groups in four states.

Idris said, “In light of recent events, the President has directed that a thorough and comprehensive investigation be conducted to ascertain the accuracy and validity of the reported details.

“The government is determined to unravel the truth as it relates to this matter, and assures that appropriate action will be taken to ensure that any breaches and infractions are identified and decisively punished, in line with the Administration’s commitment to public accountability and due process.”
