Fubara gives civil servants and pensioners a N100,000 Christmas bonus.

Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has authorized N100,000 for the state's retirees, public employees, and civil servants to enjoy a happy Christmas.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Rivers State's Head of Civil Service, George Nwaeke, affirmed this. According to the announcement, pensioners in the civil and public service as well as employees in other ministries, departments, and organizations will get the 2024 Christmas bonus. It stated that the directive must be put into effect right now in order for civil staff to enjoy a fantastic Yuletide celebration.

According to Nwaeke, "I would like to announce that this is the second time under His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara's administration that state civil servants will receive Christmas bonuses totaling one hundred thousand naira, which is more than the country's minimum wage, and the first time that pensioners will be included."

The one hundred thousand naira Christmas bonus for pensioners and civil and public personnel is a component of Governor Fubara's "Rivers First mantra," which aims to ensure the happiness and well-being of Rivers people in all economic sectors.

GOD DOESN’T START AND END HALFWAY - GOV. FUBARA

We are here to honour dedication and to commend determination.

A lot of you, I know, have been hearing one thing or the other, but what we are doing as a government is not different from what these heroes did for our country.

Some persons, who have decided to be enemies of Rivers State, wanted us to have a black Christmas. But because we are determined to ensure that the interest of Rivers State is protected, we were able to meet our obligations as a government. Today, I can say boldly that our civil servants are happy. Even in the face of all their propaganda that our allocation fell inside one bridge, we are the first state not just making the promise but living up to that promise.

Today, civil servants that were collecting 70,000 naira before are jubilating with over 140,000 naira. What else is the greatest joy any government can achieve? Yea, you might do some projects, but the most important thing is the happiness that you leave in the hearts of people. That is the truth.

The most important thing is making sure that our Rivers people are put first in everything we do. So, let me thank everyone of you that has continued to support us.
