REPORT FOR THE THIRD SUNDAY SERVICE HELD AT THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH CLIFFORD ASSEMBLY, NO. 3 HADJET STREET, CALABAR. 20TH JULY, 2025.
THE WORD
SPEAKER: ELDER INYANG EKPENYONG
THEME: HOLD THY PEACE, FOR I HAVE MY MANTLE
TEXT: 2 KINGS 2:5-15
The sermon focused on the determined and focused spirit of Elisha as he followed Elijah toward the end of his prophetic journey. The message emphasized the importance of staying committed, regardless of distractions, voices of discouragement, or opposing circumstances.
From the passage, the sons of the prophets repeatedly reminded Elisha of Elijah’s impending departure, but his response was consistent: “Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.” This became a key point of the sermon , that in moments of divine transition and preparation, we must learn to silence external noise and hold on to what God is about to release.
The mantle represented more than a physical garment; it symbolized divine authority, spiritual inheritance, and the empowerment for service. Elisha’s persistence positioned him to receive this mantle. The message drew attention to how many people lose out on spiritual inheritance because they are easily distracted or discouraged.
KEY LESSONS INCLUDED:
✓Being Focus despite distractions

✓Determination unlocks inheritance
✓Power follows submission
CONCLUSION
The sermon concluded with a challenge to believers to remain steadfast, ignore negative voices, and trust God’s process, because when the time comes, the mantle will fall, and with it comes the grace, power, and responsibility to fulfill one’s divine assignment.
