How You Can Have Control of the Weather From Your Home

What if I told you that you already control the weather?
Not with a remote, but with your daily choices.

Right now, floods are destroying homes, heatwaves are breaking records, and storms are getting stronger. This isn’t random — it’s climate change, and it’s fueled by the way we live, consume, and waste.

Every light left on unnecessarily.
Every piece of plastic thrown away carelessly.
Every wasteful habit repeated daily.

It all adds up. And it’s costing us our planet.

But here’s the good news: the power to change the future is in your hands. Switching to sustainable habits, cutting down waste, recycling, and choosing renewable options are urgent steps we must all take.

We can’t keep waiting for “someone else” to fix it. If we want safer weather, a livable planet, and a future for the next generation, we need to act — and we need to act now.

At Ekkonow, we believe change begins at home. What you do today decides the climate we all live with tomorrow.

So yes, you have control of the weather — but only if you choose to use it.

Ekkonow is holding a Webinar today on how we can tackle heat and flooding in Nigeria.
It promises to be extremely educative and impactful.

“The Day Lagos Turned Into Venice”

Last year, after just two days of heavy rain, streets in Lagos looked like rivers. Cars floated, homes flooded, and people waded through water just to get to work.

It felt unusual — but was it really? Across the world, the weather is changing faster than we can adjust. Rains are heavier, heat waves are longer, and farmlands are drying up. Climate change is no longer a far-away issue in documentaries. It’s happening right here, in our neighborhoods.

The truth is, we can’t ignore it anymore. But we can act. From reducing waste, to rethinking how we consume, to spreading awareness — every little step matters.

At Ekkonow, we’re telling these stories because awareness is the seed of change. If we don’t act now, the future we fear will arrive sooner than we think.

Have you met someone who worked in Space Technology before?

Our director will be live on this space today to interview someone who once worked with the Nigerian Space Agency and now works to ensure that you and I are familiar with Space Tech and the Opportunities therein!

Our guest (the amazing lady in the photo) is Nelly-Helen.

Nelly-Helen Ebruka is a researcher and space professional with a passion for youth development and engagement. Her work includes collaborating with public and private institutions to design and implement capacity-building initiatives tailored for students and young professionals in the space sector. With an academic interest in the international politics of outer space, Nelly is currently pursuing a PhD in Politics at the University of Manchester, focusing on interregional space cooperation between Africa and Europe.

Nelly-Helen believes anyone can explore the numerous opportunities in space technology. In one of her conversations with our director, she told him, "Don't ever think that NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Nigerian Space Agency or any Space agencies in the world are far from you... get involved and you'd be surprised to see the tons of opportunities many Africans are not aware exist in space technology..."

This interview is one you should never miss if you've been thinking of the Stars and if they're opportunities for you in Space Technology.

All details to join will be in the comment section 👇👇
See you by 7:00pm GMT.

Interview is sponsored by Consultants & Techies
